I just hope the people who think Mossadegh was a democratically elected PM, and was overthrown by US, hold the same standard for Reza Shah.
He was a legal King of Iran, fight valiantly with separatists and feudalism through his life, and he was overthrown by British illegally.
We should hold both of them to same standard?

This timeline goes back to decades ago; speedboat harassment, sailor detentions, limpet mines, tanker seizures, drone attacks, and now a full-scale disruption. Every time the world shrugged or cut a deal, the next incident was worse. The same pattern runs across every dimension of the regime's behavior. Nuclear escalation, ballistic missile expansion, global assassination plots, domestic massacres, it's the same playbook on every front. Provoke. Test the response. If the cost is low, escalate further. 18 years of incidents on this chart. The only variable that changed in 2026 is that someone finally said no.

So Trump is saying war should continue because scores must be settled for what Iran has “done to Humanity, and the World, for 47 years.” That is a new objective for this war and implies its beginning or end had nothing to do with the nuclear issue. It is also makes the case for every country, especially in the global south abused by colonialism, to reopen the file on their old grievances, and line up to wage wars to settle old scores. It seems most of humanity opposes this war Trump wants to wage on their behalf and may be more interested in talking about other abuses of humanity.
