my first boyfriend was a childhood family friend. his mom and my mom were from the same town in korea and somehow found each other again in the states so understandably, we hung out all of the time. he was my first kiss, my first hand hold, my first everything. he ended up becoming super religious in his later teen years and broke up with me. i was really heartbroken at first but moved on over time. he ended up dating a few girls, getting engaged in our 20s, and got his future wife pregnant. he invited me to his wedding which was unexpected, but kind. we had been talking here and there since we had broken up and seen each other a few times as friends, but it was always a bit awkward. i lived across the country at the time of his wedding. i let him know that i was happy for him but i couldn't attend. he insisted and said he'd pick me up himself. again, super kind but i said no. what i didn't expect was for him to keep pushing, saying he'd like one last night with me before getting married. he offered to fly me out to the capital of his state, we'd spend the night together, and then drive to his town the next morning. mind you, this guy was about to get married, is a hardcore christian at this point, and has a kid on the way. i told him for the last time that i wasn't going and he finally relented. he's texted me a few times since then, showing me a picture of his daughter, but i just think the whole situation is fucked. but, since our families are friends, i can't block him without making a mess so i kinda just avoid it now LOL
