Many Europeans don't know that most of the political questions concerning them are not decided in their respective home countries, but in the European Union. This needs to change.

Yesterday an right-wing MEP from Finland was banned from entering Britain to speak at CPAC. Then police in Belgium stopped him for some time from entering the EU parliament. He was literally democratically elected to serve in the EU parliament...

Just submitted a formal complaint to European Parliament President Roberta Metsola regarding a severe breach of parliamentary immunity and freedom of movement by Brussels Mayor @PhilippeClose. Yesterday, 15 July 2026, police under the Mayor’s direct orders prevented me — as an MEP — from delivering over 530,000 citizens’ signatures for the @SaveEuropeAct to the Parliament. I was physically denied access to my own workplace for over an hour. This is an unprecedented attack on democracy and MEP rights. Full letter attached.

Today, Belgian police blocked me — a sitting Member of the European Parliament — from entering the European Parliament for nearly an hour. They were on the phone with Brussels Mayor Philippe Close, who was personally directing their actions. We have video footage of the incident. The Mayor prevented me from delivering over half a million European citizens’ signatures for the @SaveEuropeAct initiative. This is unacceptable. The EU is a union of 27 member states. No single country — and certainly not one socialist mayor of a single city — has the right to decide which MEPs from other nations can carry out their democratic duties. My team and I will launch a formal investigation into the mayor’s conduct.

Turkey has no place in the EU. Being associated with a country that imprisons dissidents, and is currently occupying Cyprus, would be a grave mistake. It would undermine almost every moral authority we believed we had.

How did Europe become so powerless on the world stage? It's simple. Europe has been so caught up in a dream world that doesn't exist. We tricked ourselves into believing that respect is earned simply through "kindness". This was a catastrophic mistake. Respect is earned through military might and innovation. Until Europe gets back to that, we will continue losing the ability to influence the world.

@ValerieHayer Yes, I posted this video in which @AbirAlsahlani speaks. But I have not threatened her. Your false claim that I would threaten my colleague will lead to legal action. One more point: my surname is Tynkkynen, not what you wrote in your letter.

Dear @AbirAlsahlani, Because you stood up against the racism voiced in our hemicycle by far-right members, you have yourself become the target of a shameful attack. The comment saying that you should “go home” is not a political disagreement. It is a racist insult. It is a brutal attempt to deny your place, your voice, and your legitimacy as a European representative. I want you to know, personally and unequivocally, that we stand with you. You are stronger than the vile racism expressed by this ECR member. Abir, your courage, dignity, and determination honor our Parliament every single day. You know how deeply we support you and how proud we are to have you among us in @RenewEurope. And beyond our political family, millions of Europeans are proud to have you as their representative: a woman who never bows her head in the face of hatred. There are moments when silence becomes an accomplice. This is not one of those moments. We will not look away, we will not move on, and we will not allow this to be brushed aside as just another comment. We draw a line here. We will leave no stone unturned in demanding accountability and are therefore writing to @EP_President today, asking for sanctions. Racism has no place in our institutions, and those who spread it must face the consequences of their actions. You are not alone in this fight. We are at your side, today and every day. With all my friendship, admiration and solidarity.

SEND THEM BACK. This is the clear message of the Europeans, who are tired of endless rapes and murders in their home countries. The plenary session in Strasbourg today voted in favour of the return regulation, which was engineered by the nationalist parties on the right. The Council and Parliament reached an agreement on the issue, and now it is possible to return illegal migrants more easily to third countries. The screaming of the radical left was music to my ears. They will not stop us.

No agreement, no ceasefire and no peace deal will change the nature of these terrorists. Violence and repression remain the language of the IRGC. The only solution is to remove it from this world.

Where are the feminists? Where is the outrage? The Islamic regime murdered thousands of young men and women. Now they’re trying to make money off the bodies of the women they butchered. This is sick and twisted on every level.

Islam is anti-women in almost every sense. Every country dominated by this religion manifests one reality: women become second class citizens. They lose autonomy. They're beaten, sold and taken advantage of. Why are the feminists so silent about this? Why are they so silent about what Islam does to women, even here in Europe? It's a disgrace.

An immigrant man from Sudan tried to behead someone in Belfast. Immigrant gangs are so out of control in Sweden, that the country now has to start locking up 13 year old killers. How long will Europe ignore the problem? We are importing cultures that stand in opposition to our own. If we don't start remigration, the problem will only get worse.

Rarely do meetings really touch my feelings, but this one really did. I had the privilege of meeting Safari Magala, a Congolese human rights defender who is one of the 14 human rights defenders selected to the European Parliament’s Sakharov Fellowship Program. Among the many powerful messages he shared, this in particular continues to resonate in my mind: every human life matters. We heard about children born as a result of rape, in areas devastated by conflict and violence. These are children who, in many parts of Western societies, might never have been given the chance to be born at all. They are a living proof that a person’s dignity is not determined by how they entered to this world. This particular message gave me really goosebumps: you are not a mistake. You are not defined by the circumstances of your birth. You are a human being with dignity, value and future. Mr. Magala asked me to speak on behalf of these kids, and I will gladly do so. The more I think about his words, the more powerful they become. Imagine a situation where a child thinks that he or she was a mistake. It has serious consequences for his/her psychological well-being. They remind us that every life carries inherent worth, regardless of its beginning. They want the same things as every child wants: to belong, to be loved and to be recognized as individuals with dreams, talents and limitless potential. I left the meeting thinking about how important it is to share their stories. Because no child should ever grow up feeling that they were a mistake. Never.
