It doesn't matter if you're a man, woman, black, or white—the sea is unforgiving. War and hardship do not discriminate, and they will test us all the same.

Ships. Jobs. Maritime Dominance. Today before the House Armed Services Committee, I detailed how the Department of the Navy provides our nation with the strategic and tactical edge, ensuring our warfighters have the decisive advantage required to deter and defeat any threat.

You may not see my scars, but they are there. I know trauma. I know pain. I also know that seeking help is a sign of strength. I did, and you can too. This Mental Health Awareness Month, I remain committed to breaking down barriers to care for our Sailors and Marines. You are always worth fighting for.

Nurses save lives. Since May 13, 1908, our nurses have provided world-class care, exceptional leadership, and critical medical readiness in the most challenging environments—from hospital ships and clinics to combat zones.

Protecting our homeland is an absolute necessity. It is the very reason the @USNavy and @USMC exist. But defending our nation comes with a profound cost. We will be judged not just on how we defend our country, but on how we care for those who answer the call. This is our responsibility.

Proud to stand with our South Korean allies. Yesterday, I hosted Republic of Korea Minister of National Defense Ahn Gyu-back and Ambassador Kang Kyung-wha to discuss our shared strategic priorities and the future of our maritime partnership. Interoperability. Collaboration. Cooperation. All are necessary to deter aggression and maintain a free and open maritime domain.

Thank you to the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense for hosting the @USNavyCNO, @CMC_MarineCorps, and me. It is always an honor to have the opportunity to champion the amazing men and women of the @USNavy and @USMC. Sailors and Marines are the true foundation of the Golden Fleet—our fleet of the future.

Amateurs talk tactics, professionals invest in logistics. Today, we funded another critical fleet replenishment oiler to be built at General Dynamics-National Steel and Shipbuilding Corporation in San Diego. The Department of the Navy continues to deliver a modern Combat Logistics Force, reinforcing the global reach and sustained lethality of our Sailors and Marines at sea.

Shipbuilding Plan Delivered. Let's get to work!

PTDO Under Secretary William Toti delivered remarks at the Navy League's Submarine Technology Symposium outlining Acting @SECNAV Cao's vision for warfighter-first leadership, accelerating shipbuilding, strengthening the industrial base, and restoring accountability across defense acquisition.

My time spent aboard USS Bainbridge this past week reinforced why the Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer continues to be the workhorse of our Fleet. Today, we funded two more DDG 51 Flight III class ships. From the Great White Fleet to the Golden Fleet, our Navy has maintained maritime dominance. With today's action, our shipbuilders will soon be at work delivering more of these lethal warfighting platforms. Let's go!

I recently returned from a visit to the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group for one reason: to personally thank America’s sons and daughters for completing a long, demanding deployment—from the High North to combat operations in South America and the Middle East. Our @USNavy and @USMC showed both allies and adversaries the grit and resilience that have defined the United States for 250 years. I couldn’t be more proud to call these men and women my shipmates. They’ve taken care of us—now it’s our turn to take care of them. Hooyah. Semper Fi.
