It's intended to prevent sex offenders from attending City Hall meetings in person, but for some people anonymity isn't just a right: it's needed for personal safety. This is going to keep the people you're trying to protect away from City Hall.

FAC Legal Director @DavidLoySD warns Fresno’s proposal to use facial recognition at public meetings could violate California’s Brown Act and chill public participation. You have the right to attend public meetings anonymously. gvwire.com/2026/03/17/fir…

I work with court-mandated perpetrators of IPV & victims. This situation is unfortunately incredibly common. Then throw in substance use, mental illness & kids. When we talk about the cycle of violence, it’s insidious and all-encompassing. It seeps into every aspect of your life

My biggest thing with Taylor is that her screaming were so loud that the neighbors called the cops, she got arrested, had her mugshot, took a plea deal, and was put on probation. That wasn't a big enough wake up call to leave Dakota alone??? She could've went to jail!

Everything is so frustrating. LADOT can't build rail, getting LA Metro to make transit accessible anyone west of Van Nuys is like pulling teeth, the major transit activist groups (not Transit Coalition) consistently ignore Valley advocates I just want transit

The proposed Pasadena BRT improvements might help here, but it's still only an improvement for East SFV.

Every now and then I miss my primary bus home, and I'm stuck playing transit roulette: what's the fastest way to get to central SFV from Pasadena Given that I'm still at least 30 minutes away from home, I don't think I picked the best option.

Can we please stop attacking natural gas depots? I know it hasn't been getting a lot of attention lately, but it is really accelerating the climate crisis.

@atk825 The best players HAVE expressed interest in it and MLB teams HAVE stopped them from participating That's kinda the whole fucking problem!

@SecantSphinx Ok. Well until the best players have any sort of incentive to prioritize this over getting ready for the season it is what it is. There are great aspects to it. It’s a showcase but it’s secondary in importance.

@atk825 I strongly disagree, and this kind rhetoric is what enables MLB to use professional leagues in other countries as a farming system instead of letting the sport grow internationally. As respectfully as possible, fuck your whole argument.

@SecantSphinx It’s an exhibition tournament during spring training. It’s good enough people take it more seriously but it will never be the big prize and that’s ok.
