@mike_daddino Yall remember when they allowed Anthony Edwards and other Timberwolves’ players to two-hand push LeBron multiple times as he was running up the court?

@CyberGuyVick @FirstTake @TheJetOnTNT 1. They didn’t have the $$ to keep up with the costs of team ownership (All the moves after winning in 2020 were about saving $$) 2. They thought LeBron would decline like Kobe & they didn’t want to be back in the same boat they were in before he saved them. (Not trading assets)

@FirstTake @TheJetOnTNT Lakers didn’t prioritize winning championships with Bron. The only reason the Westbrook trade happened was because Rob literally broke up a championship team. He didn’t make any efforts to improve the roster but sure, I drafted your son with you out the door. Stop it!

Cade Cunnigham just did something while defending James Harden that I don’t think I’ve ever seen a defender do. Instead contesting to Harden’s shooting hand which usually leads to defenders fouling him on jump shots, he jumped to his right instead of contesting his shooting hand

@KingSmoove009 @LakeShowYo Don’t forget to add Jeanie Buss too. They refused to upgrade the roster, even after making it to the WCF against Denver. Even the hiring Ham made no sense. The lakers have had the same roster issues for the past 4 years. No legitimate center or 3 & D wings.

@LakeShowYo I’m telling you, Rob has an interior motive/vendetta with LeBron ! Protect Kobe‘s legacy is his motive. And I don’t think LeBron was pissed off about a game ball. Maybe I’m wrong. But I doubt it

Apparently this was the moment LeBron felt unappreciated by the Lakers 😳 Pelinka gave the game ball to Redick for his 100th coaching win instead of LeBron for breaking Kareem’s all-time wins record 😭

@LALMuse @TheAthletic So basically the same type of roster they had when they won a championship in 2020. The lakers broke up that roster because they didn’t want to pay to keep it together. Jeanie Buss was strapped for cash which is why she eventually sold the team.

Lakers priorities this offseason: - True lob threats that mimic the skills of Daniel Gafford/Dereck Lively with a cleaner injury history - True two-way defensive players - They have desire to lock in a long term secondary playmaker next to Luka Doncic (Via: @TheAthletic)

@fckyalyfee @ca_clutch49641 @TheDunkCentral @TheAthletic There are teams that have the mid level exception who would sign him for $10 - $12M a year. The Clippers starting center is 38 year old Brook Lopez who is likely to retire, you don’t think they would pay Ayton $12M a year?

Deandre Ayton could opt out to look for a bigger payday, per @TheAthletic “Ayton, who certainly played to his $8.1 million contract this season, had a strong first-round series against Houston All-Star Alperen Şengün. He could opt out to try to find a bigger payday with the Lakers or elsewhere.” (Via hoopshype.com/story/sports/n…)

Good thing the Lakers carved out all that cap space. They'll need it to re-sign Jaxson Hayes.

This Schroder replay review is the perfect example of what should be assessed a technical foul after the review is completed @NBA. If a review is initiated and a player flopped, they should be issued a technical foul.

@LakeShowYo Cut down on some of the hard double teams of SGA, it’s leading to a lot good shots that couldn’t be replicated by players who can’t create their own shots. Also, when SGA is on the bench stop switching. Mitchell was able to run a simple pick & roll & get a big switched onto him.

@Tjonesonthenba This is nothing new. This is why smaller players are able to guard bigger players. If LeBron uses any force Caruso flops & it’s an offense foul. Meanwhile Caruso can repeatedly foul LeBron because he is the bigger player & he’s supposed to play through the contact.

@BronMuse 90% of their bench offense was created by running a simple pick & roll & the lakers switching a big man onto a guard. Stop switching when SGA is not in the game. Slow the game down & force them to play half court basketball.

@AnotherGuyFCB It’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen. All of OKC’s offense is being created off of the lakers doubling SGA and switching on P&R with Mitchell. No one else on OKC’s roster can create their own shot. They are giving them open 3pt shots and direct drives on hard closeouts.

Why are we doubling sga like that ? It makes absolutely no sense. We're doing a soft double at the top of the 3-point line with an easy out ball. The amount of times sga plays through it and okc get a corner 3 is insane

@Lakers Please stop doubling SGA and switching on pick and roles. When SGA was on the bench OKC’s entire offense was created by running a pick role to get a mismatch on a switch. Also, allow SGA unlimited contested jump shots and only bring vertical help on drives to the basket.
Seeme23@Seeme231

Who in OKC’s starting lineup outside of SGA can consistently create their own shot? Hard doubles on SGA are giving players with limited offensive abilities open shots on drive & kicks or direct drives to the basket. The Lakers need to let SGA go crazy and shut down everyone else.

@TrulyDemon3 @mcten Who on OKC can create their own shot outside of SGA? If SGA is not being doubled he will be taking more shots & his teammates won’t be getting rhythm shots out of a double. Force SGA to carry that load and hopes it wears him down. Also, slow the game down when he’s on the bench.

@TrulyDemon3 @mcten Doubling is the reason the rockets won 2 games in a row. Had they not blundered the end of the other game they would’ve been up 3-2. They didn’t double Sengun in game 6, ayton was playing him straight up. You can’t give them open shots & direct line drives out of a double.

JJ Redick says the tape from Game 1 showed that the Lakers’ defense “was good with some of the Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] coverages.” What wasn’t good? “We have to be better when [SGA’s] not on the floor … they were plus-nine in those minutes. We’ve got to at least be even”
