The delayed FAFSA form means that college advisors cannot start helping students until December or even after Winter break. Advisors are urging families to begin working on the FAFSA ID now to be as prepared as possible when the new forms are released.

The FAFSA Simplification Act will likely increase Pell Grant eligibility for many students. However, students with specific circumstances may see reduced eligibility, and state grant programs may need to fill the gap for students with unmet financial need.
