This is one of many patients Israel is preventing from leaving Gaza for urgent treatment, following the destruction of the local healthcare system and a blockade on vital medical supplies.

Idk as a customer I've never felt the dining experience is "less" because there was no music and even if so, there are so many nasheeds / non-music alternatives. Why choose to accumulate sin and compromise barakah for such little return. May Allah guide us all. Ameen

We're all on our own journey to Allah but one thing that really baffles me is Muslim-owned resturants can choose to play music, especially when they pride themselves on being 100% halal / no alcohol. Just racking up sin for something so avoidable and unnecessary

I still cannot process what I heard today… it felt like stepping into something unreal. What is happening here must be told exactly as it is, because staying silent is no longer an option. I went with my friend to a nearby camp to document the spread of rats, but what we found was far beyond a simple report. People there do not sleep at night. They stay awake for hours, watching over their children, afraid that the rats might reach them. Fear has become part of their daily lives, and exhaustion is written on every face. Rats enter the tents through small openings, attacking the little food people have, tearing their clothes, and sometimes reaching their bodies while they sleep. I saw injuries and signs of infection, and I heard stories that are impossible to bear. One of them was about a bride preparing for her wedding, only for a rat to destroy her clothes… small details that reveal the scale of this tragedy. There are no means to fight this, no poison, no solutions. The situation is getting worse day by day, and we are heading toward a real catastrophe. We need urgent intervention, we need caravans and safe shelter to protect people… because what is happening here is no longer bearable.

Child Mohannad Adel Al-Dayya was bitten by a rat while sleeping in his tent in Al-Ataa displacement camp in the central Gaza Strip. Some days earlier, his mother suffered a miscarriage after a tent pole fell on her, and she is still receiving treatment in the hospital following a severe injury.

I don’t know if anyone will even care about what I’m saying now but the truth is harsher than any person can imagine. A large number of children in Gaza are being born with shocking deformities: open spine defects, severe heart abnormalities, missing limbs, deformed heads, and faces that look as if they were burned inside the womb. They come into the world already marked by the war before they even take their first breath. Mothers have been inhaling rocket gases and toxic smoke for months, drinking water contaminated with explosives residue, and living on soil saturated with toxins. I saw photos and videos myself of children in extremely difficult conditions unbearable to look at. Babies screaming in pain during their first hours of life, their tiny bodies horribly deformed. Doctors say they have never seen such cases in their entire lives, and they warn: “These deformities are unprecedented and will increase because of the pollution.” Here, we don’t just suffer from hunger and epidemics we are giving birth to an entire broken generation from the moment they are born. We live inside a giant prison, deprived of medicine, clean food, electricity, and even the basic right to have healthy children.

This is one of the most heartbreaking stories coming out of Gaza. For nine months, 37-year-old Raed al-Mureidi has been trapped in a medical nightmare. While searching for food for his family at a U.S./Israeli aid distribution point, aka Kill Zones, Raed was shot in the head by the Israeli terrorist forces. The bullet fractured his skull, leaving him paralyzed and unable to speak. As his condition deteriorates, a mass has begun to form in his head. Because of the ongoing brutal Israeli blockade and the destruction of Gaza’s healthcare system, the surgery he needs to survive is impossible to get locally. Israel and its terrorist system have denied his travel permit for nearly a year. Raed is now a symbol of thousands of others caught in a savage system that blocks both food and the medicine needed to survive. The heartbreaking video is below.

When my brother was released from prison, he was no longer the same it was not just a release, but as if he carried with him the pain of everyone who remained there. He told us about the spread of severe skin diseases among the prisoners, caused by long months without bathing, without changing clothes, in the absence of water and any means of hygiene or sterilization. He said the suffocating smells filled the cells, and their bodies ached from constant neglect. He told us about the extreme overcrowding in the cells, where dozens were crammed into a space too small for them, with no room to sit or sleep, taking turns lying down, spending long hours standing. No air, no sunlight, only closed walls and a suffocating confinement that crushed the spirit before the body. He spoke about interrogations… about the harsh, repeated torture, the beatings, humiliation, and psychological pressure, just because he was from Gaza. He told us about starvation, about meals that were not enough even for a child, and a constant feeling of dizziness and exhaustion. He told us about the biting cold, about long nights without blankets, shivering until morning, and wet clothes that never dried. About sickness… about unbearable pain, untreated wounds, and medicine denied to them, as if they were left to suffer in silence. But what was worse than all of this… was the psychological destruction. He told us they were deprived of sleep for days, the lights kept on day and night, and shouting in their faces continuously. Sometimes they were forced to sleep while their hands were bound, in painful positions, unable to move or rest. He said they were subjected to humiliating searches repeatedly, stripped of privacy and dignity. He told us about isolation, total disconnection from the world, no letters, no visits, no knowledge of their fate or their families… only emptiness, fear, and waiting. He told us about moments when some completely broke under the pressure, silent crying in the dark, losing hope, people who changed completely and were no longer the same. Some became mentally ill, some lost the ability to speak, and some lived in total silence. He told us things things the mind cannot comprehend, and the heart cannot bear. We listened, caught between shock and helplessness, as if hearing about another world but it was real. The condition of prisoners in the jails is tragically beyond description. All of this happens, is reported, and yet nothing changes.

Hussein Saleh lost 8 members of his family in an Israeli strike on their home, including his pregnant wife. He found the head of his young daughter amid the rubble. “When I picked up her head, everything changed. Something in my heart broke and went silent.” It is one of the most heartbreaking stories @NadaOHomsi and I have worked on during the war. Nothing could justify such a horrific attack.

Six children and their mother… all that remains of them is a small bag weighing no more than 6 kilograms of human remains. This is Abu Ismail Hammad, who pulled his children out from under the rubble with his own hands, after their bodies had decomposed. What words could ever describe such pain? What language is enough for this loss? We try to speak… but the pain is beyond description.

My great uncle’s wife is 85 years old and has cancer. She is in severe, constant pain and is dying without relief. There are no painkillers available for her in Gaza due to Israel’s cruel siege. Her children sent me a very painful video today! I’m traumatized after watching this video. Can anyone help us get medication to ease her suffering?

I’m a family doctor, and I join the call by @drtlaleng in demanding the release of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya who remains in Israeli captivity for over a year. He has been subjected to severe torture. Our medical colleagues have been targeted for doing their jobs - release them all!

Muwaffaq Abu Safiya, brother of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya: "Since we heard the news of the execution of prisoners, we've been truly terrified. We are afraid that Dr. Hussam is one of those names that will be listed (for execution). Dr. Hussam's situation is very bad, his health is completely deteriorating due to the intensity of torture and the lack of nutrition. We demand the whole world to take a stand... If he were in any other country. He would have received medals, but because he is from Gaza he is subjected to torture."
Eva Karene Bartlett@EvaKBartlett

Don't stop advocating for the heroic Dr. Hussam Abu Safiyeh, abducted from his northern Gaza hospital by Israeli army terrorists in December 2024, among the over 10,000 Palestinian hostages being imprisoned and tortured by Israel. ingaza.wordpress.com/2025/01/23/whe… evakarenebartlett.substack.com/p/zionist-medi…
