Destiny 2 absolutely destroying Marathon on a Sunday afternoon. Bungie and Sony… I hate to tell you this but June 9th is going to be an awful day for you guys.

@PolishTamales Marathon doesn't have the pull that Destiny has, not talking Destiny 2, I'm talking franchise pull. People are out there waiting for a Destiny 3 or anything that is related to Destiny that's fresh. Millions of people. Sony is retarded for doing this.

@PolishTamales Yall really weren't there when destiny released right? Both 1 and 2 had mediocre reviews at release, 99% of YouTubers called it the biggest disappointment of the year, it took YEARS to fix it. Compared to that, Marathon release, reviews, gameplay loop and reception is much better

@limitlessdame The thing with the weapon balance is it seems quite good, just weaker guns need some buffs (like magnum and WSTR 👀). Like you say, bubbles biggest issue is it's a crutch. It means you can do stupid stuff and not get punished

I'm not sure what Bungie should do, but the bubble/slick mag/Mizzy meta isn't very fun in Cryo. People are blaming the guns, because that's what kills them, but I don't think that's the issue. ​The real problem is still bubble availability (and also Recon wallhack uptime with energy amps and running two Recons in a squad...). ​Bubbles completely go against Bungie's stated design for the game: "One of our core philosophies for Marathon is that rapid repositioning and aggression must always have a meaningful cost." Bubbles just nullify that cost because they act as a "get out of bad positioning free" card. ​Right now, Cryo feels like: ✅ Pop wallhacks ✅ Slide-rush with a shotgun ✅ Pop a bubble because you’re out of position 🔄 Repeat until everyone's dead. ​I'm not sure what the fix is, but the best metas are varied metas. ​Maybe make EMPs a hard bubble counter? Maybe if you throw a bubble onto another bubble, it breaks the first one? IDK, but I still think bubbles are the root of all evil.
