It’s been a real pleasure to onboard Brazilian contemporary artists to the digital art space over the past couple of years. Yesterday, @DanielTucci777 released his first ever solo work on the blockchain (details below) after decades of experience as a contemporary artist in Rio de Janeiro. Equally, in November 2024, I curated a solo exhibition for @mateu_velasco at the beautiful @nguyenwahed gallery space in the East Village, in NYC - for his first ever NFT collection. And I’ll be working with @fotogracria to bring more of her beautiful work to the digital art space over 2026. All three artists were onboarded through the @rioartresidency We talk a lot about the necessity to onboard collectors to this space - which is undeniably needed - but I firmly believe in also welcoming new and established artists to embed themselves in our culture and scene. It’s just one of the ways we can spread the word about our movement, but a really important one. I hope to see more artists coming into the space to show their work, explore new technologies and enter the wonderful world of networked art.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Dick Taverne, a dear friend and remarkable man who dedicated his life to public service and the public good. Through each and every one of his ideas and actions, and by generously supporting others, Lord Taverne managed to make life richer, fairer and more knowledgeable for everyone. As a mentor and co-founder of our charity many years ago, he placed a huge amount of trust and confidence in me, a 30-something who wanted to make a difference, by indulging and funding a dream project. I feel endless gratitude for his warmth, friendship and for taking a chance on me. This is the sweetest photo I have of us - waving at each other on my wedding day, feeling pure joy and happiness for being in each other’s company. Dick was 97 years old and a treasure of a human being. My thoughts are with Janice and the whole family.

The path to success is different for everyone. Some will rise like Banksy and @XCOPYART, through interventions and timely depictions of collective feelings, thoughts and impressions that mostly lie under the surface. But it won’t be the case for all. 2/3

Whether you agree with Banksy’s message or not, this was a cunning move. It was always going to be erased - no doubt he knew this. Protest art turned performance art communicating exactly what the artist wanted. Few can capture the zeitgeist as well as Banksy does. 1/3
