@chessfeelspod Loved this discussion. I heavily related to Julia’s point on rarely feeling bored. For me, it feels like I avoid the boring tasks until they present as stimulating, either by seeing it thru a different perspective or just time pressure due to putting it off.

@boldmovebydan That’s a good way to think about - more chances for removal of the guard.

OK, I got the Azel Chua course (with video, because it was on sale) and I've already picked up a nugget I've never heard before, which is that a piece with the same number of attackers as defender is more likely to be lost in a tactic, the greater that number is.

I need a book or Chessable course that can teach me to calculate like a 1900

If I called my brand "zero blunders" I maybe wouldn't try to boost my sales by name checking Andrew tate

This is the best positional game I’ve ever played in bullet. Felt like a @NealBruceBC win where he plays solid/positional chess, until his opponent makes a mistake, and then plays precise in the critical moment. #chesspunks

THREAD we forgot to make an advent calendar this year (nobody told us) so instead here is our ADVENT BLINDFOLD PUZZLE (abridged) White to play and mate in 2. You'll get one piece per day every day until christmas (if we counted right). Day 1: Black rook on a1

Sometimes when I realize my position is losing I just start sacrificing most of my remaining pieces?

@natesolon @juIiarios You’re allowed to say whatever you want Nate, as long as Julia doesn’t disagree or hate your font. Otherwise…

@juIiarios I’d argue that even if you start with 4, achieving 5 will nullify it.

Basic tactics win most games under 2000. What did I play as Black against a 1665 player? #chesspunks

When you join the #chesspunks, they don’t tell you that improvement just means finding a double double exclam to turn an equal-yet-dynamic position into an instant draw.

I played 1. Nxe6 and exclaimed "oh no, my queen!" And it worked, they took my hanging queen and I played 2. Nc7#. But they could've escaped with 1...g5. Can you find the actual mate in 2 in this position?

@juIiarios Does the Delayed Alapin still fall under ‘wouldn’t date’? Or do I get a first date and then ghosted after you see all my red flags?

@ChessGainz I think Rxa6 works. If white responds with Rxa6, Qc1+ followed by e2+.

My opponent in this one was 505, and gave me a a heck of a game. A nice reminder that checkmates are taken, never given. I took them casually and nearly got GOT. Had to make them suffer for it with 2 Queens 🤣 #chess #chesspunks
