@DailyNorseman That’s what happens when you draft players in the trenches. Notice that no interior defensive linemen or offensive linemen are listed. And every defensive player invited was a top 15 pick.

@vikingzfanpage @alec_lewis @TheAthletic This guy actually makes a lot of sense. History with KOC, and history with George Paton who worked for a long time with everyone else in the Vikings front office. Seems like someone who would be on the same page, and work well with everyone already in the building.

#Raiders assistant GM Brian Stark is a name “to know” for the #Vikings open GM position, @alec_lewis writes via @TheAthletic. Stark has crossed paths with Kevin O’Connell during their time at San Diego State: “Stark is an executive who is aware of O’Connell’s vision and abilities.”

@vikingzfanpage @SeifertESPN I don’t see Brz wanting the job full time. Not after all of these years of staying where he’s been. And I have a harder time seeing the Wilfs wanting to make him the GM, and risk losing him if he doesn’t work out.

Minnesota is expected to run a “genuinely open ended search” in regards to their new GM, per @SeifertESPN. The #Vikings have “plenty of support” for Rob Brzezinski to become the GM, but he is in “no way” a preferred candidate for the job: “There remains plenty of support among staffers for Brzezinski to get a promotion, even as he has continued to put off those discussions. By all indications, the Wilfs are going to run a genuinely open-ended search. It could include Brzezinski, but he is in no way a preferred candidate.”

@CPUFXRnDMV @alec_lewis It’s smart decision stuff. Instead of hiring a guy who has to inherit a scouting staff for his first offseason like most GMs who get hired in February, the Vikings new GM will get to implement his guys before the college season, and he’ll get to evaluate the roster in season.

@alec_lewis One of the strangest decisions you may ever see. What did waiting to hire a GM until right after the draft do? I was expecting the hiring next year sometime not right after the draft. They had 2 months leading up to the draft. This is mom & pop shop decision making type stuff.

The Vikings’ draft is over. Now immediately on the docket? An interesting and important GM search. Speed is crucial. So is getting this right. Here are some of the names to know and why: nytimes.com/athletic/72354…

when @alec_lewis says here’s a new name to know, I pay attention reading between the lines in the full article, the GM job is Brzezinski’s if he wants it, but he likely ends up in another role O’Connell and Flores (!) will have a say in the choice Stark seems like KOC’s guy

The Vikings will likely solidify their GM position quickly now that the draft is completed. Here are some of the possible candidates based on various reports and speculation: - Vikings EVP and Interim GM Rob Brzezinski - Broncos Assistant GM Reed Burckhardt - Colts Assistant GM Ed Dodds - Lions Assistant GM Ray Agnew -Rams Assistant GM John McKay Which option intrigues you most?

@Vikeologist Reed Burckhardt is a guy I think the team goes after. Already has familiarity with the organization. Familiarity with guys like Brzezinski, Miller, Monnens, etc. Trent Kirchner from Seattle would be another great option.

As much as I love Rob Brzezinski, I hope he decides to withdraw his name from consideration so he can continue doing what he does best with the Vikings. John McKay, the asst. GM for the Rams, is my choice. He spent 4 years as Director of Pro Personnel before becoming asst. GM.

I guarantee you the Vikings add another WR. Who is your favorite option?
Steve Hoikkala@stevehoikkala

The #Vikings didn’t select a WR in the draft to challenge WR Tai Felton at WR3. After the Jonathan Greenard trade, Minnesota has $16 million in current cap space. Veterans like Deandre Hopkins, Keenan Allen, Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill or Jauan Jennings could receive a call 📞

@JasonHarmonNFL No it won’t. Outside of Love every other RB in this class was simply a JAG. Nothing special. There will be 6-10 RBs just like them next year. With Jones and Mason coming back, it’s not a dire need for 2026. Draft one next year.

@WillRagatz With Brandel being the starting C this year, Burton makes a lot sense with his versatility at guard as well as center.

Sam Hecht and Parker Brailsford just got drafted, so the crop of possible starting centers is running thin. Matt Gulbin, Pat Coogan, and Jager Burton are probably the top three remaining.

@Skol_Doc @MatthewColler I have just never gotten the sense that the Wilfs are those types of owners. Coaches aren’t fired for losing games, they’re fired after losing the locker room.

As a jersey numbers matter person. I wanna know the number Caleb Banks picks with the #Vikings. Obviously not getting 88 The numbers I see available in the 90s are: 91, 92, 93, 97 and 98 I’m hoping he takes either 93 or 98

Also thought it was interesting Banks was labeled as a DE when he was announced. Wouldn’t mind double dipping on the interior DL by any means

@vikingsfans16 I could have seen Dallas or the Chargers taking him as well. And since the Chiefs took Peter Woods, it’s entirely possible that they also would have taken Banks had he been available.

was Dillon Thieneman actually "perfect for Brian Flores' defense"? Thieneman's a great prospect, but I questioned the fit with Flores all along, and the Vikings did pass on him in the end why does Mel Kiper think he knows better than Flores which safety fits his scheme?

The Vikings are taking Florida DT Caleb Banks at 18. They must feel good about the medicals. Love the fit and upside on paper! They needed a mauler in the middle of their defensive line.
