ICYMI: Labor released Australia's first national strategy for gender equality. Here's what it focuses on.

As I have said before, it is clear these issues go well beyond the union - they involve criminal gangs & some labour hire firms/construction businesses. We’ve begun change, but we must continue tackling corruption, criminality & violence across the whole construction industry.

I have spoken with the administrator tonight and he intends to investigate and take action against any serving CFMEU organisers or delegates implicated in these reports. He will also consider further action to stamp out gender violence in the industry.

Tonight’s @60Mins allegations of corruption & violence towards women are appalling. I will refer them to police for further investigation. Uncovering this unacceptable conduct is testament to the hard work of the CFMEU administrator & his team, appointed by the Albanese Govt.

The footage of a violent act against a woman that aired on 60 Minutes tonight is horrifying. The culture towards women on worksites also shown on the program is completely unacceptable.
