It’s imperative for public safety & victims’ families to retain an acceptable form of 2nd degree murder charges. We propose to give judges more discretion. We don’t intend to release people who pled guilty in exchange for a lower sentence without a thorough review of their case.

We are two weeks away from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s deadline to ensure we protect victims and our communities by imposing appropriate sentences for individuals convicted of Second Degree Murder. At a recent press conference with @PASenateGOP, I explained what felony murder actually means. The time to act is now- our communities are depending on us because if communities aren’t safe, nothing else matters. Thanks to @SenLisaBaker and a bipartisan majority of the Senate for acting on this critical issue with Senate Bill 1400. Let’s get it done.
