Really cool moment tonight postgame after VCU upset UNC. VCU head coach Phil Martelli Jr. made a point to shoutout the student reporters that made the trip. Lots of great stuff this time of year, but this was a really awesome, genuine exchange.

Been at ESPN a long time - this one was an all timer. Before social media, it was as viral as a story can be. I watched it on a tape in the news room. I couldn’t stop watching his teammates.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”

14 years ago today, Luke Loucks scored 10 points as Florida State defeated UNC for its first ACC Tournament championship. Tonight, in Loucks’ first ACCT game as the program’s coach, the Seminoles beat Cal 95-89. Full-circle moment. FSU-Duke in tomorrow’s 7 pm quarterfinal.

Seems hard for the President to rely on the 15 percent statute (sec 122) when his DOJ in our case told the Court the opposite: “Nor does [122] have any obvious application here, where the concerns the President identified in declaring an emergency arise from trade deficits, which are conceptually distinct from balance-of-payments deficits." If he wants sweeping tariffs, he should do the American thing and go to Congress. If his tariffs are such a good idea, he should have no problem persuading Congress. That’s what our Constitution requires. Trump Says He Will Raise Global Tariff to 15 Percent nytimes.com/2026/02/21/bus… via @NYTimes

Today, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce presented me with Blueprint Virginia 2035. This document provides a roadmap for building an economy where every Virginian can earn a good living — and where businesses know they’ll have access to the top talent in America. Thank you!

I briefly commented to @NicolleDWallace on @SenMarkKelly awards yesterday. For those unfamiliar, several of the awards have a “V” which stands for “valor,” a heroic act in combat. But if you want to know the real Mark Kelly, read any book about the Columbia shuttle disaster. His voluntary actions during the recovery operations will bring normal mortals to tears. Those were real heroic actions. Having met him and @GabbyGiffords, their character, humanity and love of country shine through.
Senator Mark Kelly@SenMarkKelly

When I was 22 years old, I commissioned as an Ensign in the United States Navy and swore an oath to the Constitution. I upheld that oath through flight school, multiple deployments on the USS Midway, 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, test pilot school, four space shuttle flights at NASA, and every day since I retired – which I did after my wife Gabby was shot in the head while serving her constituents. In combat, I had a missile blow up next to my jet and flew through anti-aircraft fire to drop bombs on enemy targets. At NASA, I launched on a rocket, commanded the space shuttle, and was part of the recovery mission that brought home the bodies of my astronaut classmates who died on Columbia. I did all of this in service to this country that I love and has given me so much. Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death. If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

#BREAKING: Psaki: "ProPublica published quite a scoop about Trump DHS Secretary @Sec_Noem...that in any other era, would be a career-ending scandal...she has directed more than $200 million taxpayer dollars into tv ads to promote her work at DHS...since March, we've known that DHS skipped the normal competitive bidding process when giving out the contracts to make and air these ads...it turns out that a majority of that no bid contract money--$143 million taxpayer dollars went to this mysterious llc in Delaware, an llc that was created JUST DAYS before it got that no bid contract."🙄

Thank you, Virginia! It is the honor of my lifetime to be elected your next Governor. Tonight, you chose leadership that will always put you first — and tonight, we turned a page. I know that the list of challenges we are facing is long. But I also know that the only way we're going to solve these problems is by tackling them together. Democrats, Republicans, Independents — all of us — because that embodies the message we sent tonight, and that is Virginia. Let’s put Virginia on a path forward. Let's show the world what we're made of. Let's get to work.

Stop. Lying. Congress had approved the funding in 2008, following a report from the administration of then-President George W Bush. News reports explained that the project aimed to modernize the White House’s aging infrastructure. It is therefore misleading to claim that Obama personally “spent” $370 million on renovations. The project was actually a utility upgrade funded through a congressional appropriation made in 2001 and did not involve any changes to the White House’s historic structures

🚨BREAKING: People are digging up a 2010 CNN clip showing Obama’s $376M White House makeover — all paid for by taxpayers. Meanwhile President Trump’s $250M ballroom is coming out of his own pocket.
