Today, the U.S. and Peru celebrate 200 years of diplomatic relations. As a Major Non-NATO ally, Peru remains a key partner in advancing our shared goals in the Western Hemisphere. I look forward to continuing to deepen our cooperation for a more prosperous region.

We need to call out adversaries who sabotage U.S. or allied undersea infrastructure and vigorously prosecute those responsible. Just because our adversaries think they can manipulate our legal system, doesn’t mean we should let them. Maduro learned the hard way what happens when you threaten us – others should take note. As expected, this “commission” glossed over a violent crackdown and the facts. I support the administration’s bilateral review and call for sustained pressure on Tanzania, including the release of Tundu Lissu. Waiting out scrutiny with a whitewashed report is a flawed strategy; it won’t restore credibility but rather deepens long-term risk and mistrust of the ruling regime.
Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman@SenateForeign

Even before its handpicked “independent” commission began work, Tanzania’s government rushed to blame vague “foreign” actors for the bloodshed. It has offered no credible explanation for its own election-related crackdown, including why Christian leaders were singled out for deadly attacks and abductions. Those responsible for persecuting these Christians must be held to account. breitbart.com/africa/2025/12…

The Iranian regime must end its reign of terror in the Strait of Hormuz. The entire international community must step-up once again and support freedom of navigation in the Strait to restore the world’s economy. Thanks to our Bahraini partners for their leadership at the UNSC.
Ambassador Mike Waltz@USAmbUN

Iran’s attacks in the Strait of Hormuz are an assault on the world’s economy. Nearly 100 countries — including the Gulf nations Iran has attacked — came together this morning to condemn Iran’s actions.

Greater international action and cooperation to combat extortion of children online is critical to protect all children, at home in America and abroad. I am glad to see strong U.S. leadership to prevent theses heinous crimes. This U.S.-led resolution would refocus global priorities at the UN on what truly matters. state.gov/releases/offic…

I strongly support the Administration’s actions today against Kok An and others. Cyber scams originating from Cambodia have stolen tens of millions from Idahoans and billions from Americans nationwide. Countering this is a priority for Congress and the Administration.
Treasury Department@USTreasury

Today, Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned Cambodian senator Kok An—who controls a network of compounds in his country that target Americans with digital asset scams—along with 28 affiliated individuals and entities. home.treasury.gov/news/press-rel…

China reportedly pressured Mauritius, Seychelles, and Madagascar to deny airspace access to Taiwan’s President Lai, escalating Beijing’s campaign to isolate Taiwan. That is not just coercion; it is a disturbing breach of civil aviation norms. The U.S. should not let China normalize this—and should be clear-eyed about our relations with countries that so quickly bend to its pressure. reuters.com/world/china/us…

Agree with my colleague @SenatorWicker. Well past time for the LAF to take tangible action to fully disarm Hezbollah & for the Lebanese government to follow through on long-promised economic reform. The era of complacency & unconditional bailouts must come to an end.
Senator Roger Wicker@SenatorWicker

Hezbollah’s killing of a French service member in southern Lebanon, only days after Israel agreed to a ceasefire, is a critical test for the Lebanese Armed Forces. Congress should not support the LAF unless it acts to disarm Hezbollah completely — and immediately.

I'm glad the State Dept. is holding these individuals accountable; it's a good step toward disrupting these proxy networks. We must redouble our efforts to stop the fighting and ensure the people of Sudan receive the help they desperately need from both the United States and our partners.
U.S. Department of State Deputy Spokesperson@StateDeputySpox

The Trump Administration is sanctioning five individuals and entities fueling the Sudan conflict. We urge a humanitarian truce, an end to external financial and military support, and a return to civilian-led, unified governance in Sudan.

NOW: Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz torches the United Nations for FAILING on the world stage and for PRAISING dictatorships around the globe: “The UN has drifted. Its budget has quadrupled… Yet we have not seen a quadrupling of peace. Wars rage, dictatorships are honored… The UN pushes costly ideological agendas.”
