This Act would require developers to maintain and publish AI safety frameworks addressing catastrophic risk mitigation, cybersecurity, governance, audits, and internal use safeguards.

Great meeting with @SenEdlyAllen and Steve Wimmer with the Transparency Coalition this morning as we work to get SB 315 across the line. Senator Edly-Allen’s legislation, which I’m chief cosponsoring, would create the Artificial Intelligence Safety Measures Act.

I am proud of the work we’ve accomplished to help save Illinois nuclear plants, end the moratorium on small modular reactors, and help position our state as a national leader in nuclear energy.

Honored to pass SJR 35 to designate a portion of Route 23 as the “Deputy Sheriff Christina Musil Memorial Highway.” Deputy Musil gave her life in service to her community, and this designation ensures her legacy of courage, service, & sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As a parent and a legislator, I believe one thing is very clear. Our kids are growing up in a digital world that is moving faster than our laws have kept up. Through my Safe Screens, Healthy Minds initiative, I have been working to bring balance back to that equation.

I am grateful for the bravery and dedication of our law enforcement officers who risk their lives every day to keep our communities safe. We will not forget his service and sacrifice.

My heart goes out to Chicago Police Officer John Bartholomew, who was tragically killed in the line of duty over the weekend. I am keeping the other injured officer and everyone impacted by the tragedy at Swedish Hospital in my prayers.

Congratulations to Kendall County Circuit Judge John McAdams on being named the 2026 @IllinoisCASA Judge of the Year! This is a well deserved recognition of his commitment to serving children & families in our community. Thank you for your continued dedication to Kendall County.
