It’s only been a week since Tax Day, and Nebraskans are already seeing more money in their pockets! When I visited La Casa Pizzeria in Omaha, a restaurant manager shared the story of a waitress whose wages were incorrectly reported. Once corrections were made, she received an extra $1,500 in her tax returns because of the no tax on overtime provision. The Working Families Tax Cuts are working for Nebraskans!

For the last 250 years, Americans have answered the call to serve and defend our great nation. Today, we remember and honor all the brave women and men who lost their lives in service to our country. America is the home of the free because of the brave.

Enjoyed starting my morning yesterday at the kick-off celebration for the Warrior Bike Ride across the country on the National Mall!   I had the pleasure of meeting Winston Hall, a proud Nebraskan from Elkhorn and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. Mr. Hall will be participating in the 75-day cross-country bikepacking trip along the Great American Rail-Trail.   Best of luck on your trip, Mr. Hall, and thank you for your service!

Thank you @TulsiGabbard for your service at @ODNIgov. Susanne and I will keep you and your husband in our prayers in the days ahead.
Tulsi Gabbard 🌺@TulsiGabbard

I am deeply grateful for the trust President Trump placed in me and for the opportunity to lead @ODNIgov for the last year and a half. Unfortunately, I must submit my resignation, effective June 30, 2026. My husband, Abraham, has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer. He faces major challenges in the coming weeks and months. At this time, I must step away from public service to be by his side and fully support him through this battle.

To celebrate National Beef Month, I introduced a bill that protects real meat. Deceptive labeling of plant-based protein products hurts American farmers and ranchers. It also degrades consumer trust. The FAIR Labels Act would prohibit labeling plant-based or cell-based alternatives as “meat.” That name should be reserved for the real thing–especially Nebraska beef.

Thank you, @SenatorRicketts, for supporting protections that preserve states’ power to combat crypto‑kiosk fraud. #NE’s licensing rules, daily limits, and refund guarantees for new customers who fall victim to fraud are commonsense safeguards worth defending at the federal level.

Today, I called for a voice vote on the Senate floor to declare May Renewable Fuels Month.  It passed. Renewable fuels are great for consumers to help save you money at the pump.  Last time I filled up with a 10% blend of ethanol, I saved 55 cents a gallon at my local grocery store. @RepDonBacon told me that he is saving $1 a gallon with E15. Renewable fuels are also great for cleaning up the environment and, of course, great for our farmers and ranchers. Renewable fuels are part of an American First Energy dominance strategy.  They are great for Nebraska.

Agriculture is the heart and soul of what we do in Nebraska. Family farms and ranches are the backbone of our communities. I’m fighting to keep more money in the pockets of Nebraska farmers and ranchers. The Working Families Tax Cuts helps Nebraska producers grow and reinvest. This landmark legislation unleashes Nebraska’s power to fuel the world, supports the next generation of ag leaders through a strengthened Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Benefit, and makes the Qualified Business Income deduction permanent. Often referred to as Section 199A, this tax provision now has a lower minimum, higher thresholds, and is tied to inflation. Nebraska’s future depends on farmers, ranchers, and agri-business. The Working Families Tax Cuts supports agriculture today and protects the next generation of farmers and ranchers.

E15 is a win-win-win. It saves Nebraskans money at the pump, is good for the environment, and helps farmers get better prices for their corn and soybeans. We need to get year-round E15 done. omaha.com/news/state-reg…

Yesterday on the Senate floor, I expressed my support for Nebraska farmers and ranchers and highlighted our state's leadership in beef and renewable fuels. I also talked about my MARKET Act, which will diversify Nebraska ag exports away from Communist China.

The wildfires across Western Nebraska are the worst since we became a state. They have burned over 1,000,000 acres. I joined a letter with @SenatorFischer, @USRepMikeFlood, @RepDonBacon, and @RepAdrianSmith in support of Governor Pillen’s support for a major disaster declaration. We know Nebraskans are resilient. We support our state’s ongoing efforts.

Today I introduced a resolution designating May as Renewable Fuels Month. Nebraska is a national leader in biofuels production, making 2.2 billion gallons each year. This home-grown energy supports our economy – helping farmers get better prices for their corn and soybeans and saving consumers money at the pump. Our biofuels are a win for Nebraska and America.

Nebraska farmers and ranchers feed and fuel the world. While China remains an export market for many of Nebraskan products, it has not always been a reliable trading partner. That’s why I introduced the MARKET Act. This legislation would require the @USDA and the @USTradeRep to look at other markets so we can diversify our exports. Finding new markets will prevent Nebraska farmers and ranchers from being beholden to Communist China.

The Department of Interior and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced an opportunity for grazing access of 13,000 acres at Valentine National Wildlife Refuge. As we rebuild from the historic wildfires, we need to support Nebraska farmers and ranchers. Nebraskans can access the application at the link below. The deadline to apply is May 22. I encourage farmers and ranchers seeking access to new grazing resources to apply! fws.gov/service/valent…
