Media Release: New refinery useless without domestic oil production A new oil refinery proposed for Western Australia will not solve the nation’s fuel security issues if it relies on imports for feed stock. One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson said Labor’s announcement of a $4 million feasibility study into a new oil refinery in WA raised a lot of questions about the government’s real intentions. “Labor continues to fail Australians on fuel security and self-sufficiency,” Senator Hanson said. “We still only have 42 days’ worth of petrol and 38 days’ worth of diesel in reserve. Australia remains at the end of fragile liquid fuel supply chains, and heavily dependent on imports. “While it’s past time for new refineries and storage to improve fuel security, what Australia really needs to do is ramp up oil production so we can reduce reliance on imports from the Middle East. “We also have to question why Labor is proposing this new refinery be built and operated by a fertiliser company that’s never operated a liquid fuel refinery before. Why not select an experienced Australian oil producer? “We’re not even being told what sort of refinery is being proposed, or where it could be built. Is it going to refine condensate from the north-west shelf into diesel for use in the mining and agricultural sectors of WA? If so, we’ll need to increase domestic production of heavy crude. “Is it going to be co-located with the proposed company’s site at Karratha? What good does that do for motorists in Sydney? “For a project of this magnitude, we need to ask if $4 million is enough to look at all the issues. I’m reliably informed by industry experts it’s nowhere near enough, and that raises an important question about the timing of this announcement given there’s a by-election in WA. I’m not sure if Labor is really serious about this or just playing its usual political games by deceiving voters.” Senator Hanson said that while new refinery capacity was a step in the right direction, much more would need to be done to improve Australia’s fuel security. “We need more storage onshore and we need more production,” she said. “Australia has around 17 billion barrels to develop, and possibly a great deal more than that. “Any feasibility study into a new oil refinery must factor in the immense strategic value of reducing Australia’s dependence on fuel imports.”

I am disappointed that the Federal Court has rejected my appeal relating to the claim against me by the Greens’ Senator Faruqi.   My legal team and I will now closely review the decision in the coming days, with a view to commencing an appeal in the High Court of Australia.   Public discussion in Australia has become almost totally silenced by laws and rules which prevent ordinary people expressing their personal views in case some small part of our society takes some sort of offence or feels hurt or “distressed”. This has never been, nor ever should be, the Australian way.   We all need to have the courage – and the freedom – to say what we think on issues that are important to us all. Some of those views may not be what certain people would like to hear, but that doesn’t mean that they are not valid views, and it certainly doesn’t mean that people should be prevented from having a voice on topics which are critical to our country’s future.   I was incensed by the incredible disrespect that I felt was shown to our late Queen on the day of her death by Senator Fahruqi and others. I simply wanted to call that out.   For me, respect for our institutions of Government; for our collective moral compass; and for the principles – including respect for our Head of State – which together have shaped this wonderful nation, are vital attributes which all Australians should embrace.   If people in Australia are scared or forbidden to freely express themselves, then those values are eroded. I am here to fight for all Australians to ensure that such a dark day never comes.   I sincerely thank all those who continue to support me in this legal process.

Look at the Prime Minister squirm and refuse to answer questions about the dinner he attended allegedly in return for a $1 million donation to the labor party. The dinner was hosted at a mansion in Point Piper, one of the most expensive suburbs in Australia. Disgraced former Victorian Premier Dan Andrews was also in attendance. The organiser, Felix Lee has been subject to scrutiny by Australia's banking regulator. His parent's were chased by the ATO for an alleged $273 million in unpaid tax. The Point Piper mansion the Prime Minister attended for the fundraiser is subject to a security claim by the tax office. Lee's father was a central figure in the 2022 inquiry into the basket case casino, having put $2.2 billion through Sydney’s Star casino including the use of prohibited Chinese debit cards. There are allegations of billions flowing from China into Australia - this is the company the Prime Minister keeps. The Prime Minister hits Australians with some of the highest taxes in the world, then dines with the family of a man the tax office reportedly chased for a quarter of a billion in unpaid tax. If Labor didn't have double standards, they wouldn't have any.

What Labor's just done in their national conference is insane. This is the RISE OF THE UNIONS. Against the will of the people. Australians rejected thuggish unions - with union membership falling to bugger all. People preferred to negotiate employment in a free market. Now, Labor is making sure the unions have a foot in every door and a fist in every business owner's face. This is a betrayal and they should be FORCED to take every single change back to an election.

In the year to June 2025, Australia deported 162 failed asylum seekers. At this rate it would take 610 years to clear the backlog of failed asylum seekers who had their claims refused. This is not a "Well functioning system", despite what some are increasingly claiming.

The notes also record the Minister stating there ‘may be a way to achieve the same outcome without government undertakings’. “Then – astonishingly – departmental officials were asked to leave the room so a ‘frank discussion’ could continue behind closed doors. There is no official record of what happened next. Tony Burke cannot hide in secret meetings behind closed doors with people looking to bring terrorists to Australia and expect Australians to trust him. What was discussed after officials were removed? What commitments were made? What did he mean by ‘the same outcome without government undertakings’? ‘One Nation’s position is clear. If you chose to join or support at terrorist organisation, you chose to turn your back on Australia. We will never allow these terrorists back into this country. Australia cannot be self-reliant while relying on overseas refineries and imported fuel to keep our farms, trucks and food supply moving. Every disruption overseas flows directly into higher costs for Australian families. A country that depends on foreign fuel is not energy secure, food secure or economically secure. Without fuel self-reliance, Australia remains vulnerable to every international crisis. Years of net-zero policies have contributed to the decline of domestic refining capacity and increased Australia's vulnerability to overseas fuel supply chains.
