Big news from @ASIC_Connect yesterday: intermediaries distributing AFS-licensed stablecoins will now benefit from class relief, removing the need for separate market or settlement licences. This marks a major step in bringing stablecoins into Australia’s financial system under clear regulatory settings, balancing innovation with compliance. Did you know that the @LSEplc has just facilitated the first transaction on its new blockchain-based platform for private funds? The platform, called Digital Markets Infrastructure (DMI), is built on Microsoft Azure and designed to cover the full lifecycle of an asset, from issuance to settlement, with more efficiency than legacy systems. Its first clients, @members_cap and @ArchaxCrypto, used it to raise money for MembersCap’s MCM Fund 1. Just last week, @Nasdaq filed to tokenize stocks in the U.S. And now the LSE has gone live with its own blockchain market infrastructure. Together, they show that tokenization is being embedded at the heart of global exchanges. Why does this matter? This matters because tokenization is about modernizing the infrastructure that underpins global markets. Putting these assets on-chain is an important part of that, as is automating lifecycle events and ensuring interoperability with both blockchain and TradFi systems. In doing so, exchanges like LSE and Nasdaq are paving the way for more efficient, transparent, and scalable capital markets.
