What I find truly appalling is the number of Canadians in denial about the state of the country. It’s shameful, outrageous, disheartening and pathetic how many dismiss the entirety of the situation. As a child I was so proud of Canada and the seniors that built it, smh

Overexplaining is really common for survivors of narcissistic abuse because, in those relationships, every word, action, or decision could be twisted, criticized, or used against them. They get used to constantly justifying themselves, anticipating how the abuser might react, and trying to prevent conflict or blame. Even after leaving, that habit sticks—survivors often feel like they have to give extra detail or clarify themselves to make sure they’re “understood” or not judged. It’s not about being insecure or annoying; it’s a trauma response. The brain learned that overexplaining was a way to survive and stay safe. Over time, with self-awareness and practice, survivors can start trusting their own voice again and realize they don’t need to justify themselves to everyone all the time.

@DMichelleSteele @Ryan_Daigler Exactly!! But they could keep secrets, tell half truths, fabricate stories, embellish… but when the table turned & if they were asked the same questions they would loose their 💩 🤯. I’m on the other side so I can laugh about them now. 🤗

@Ryan_Daigler The self awareness has always been there, and I’ve always stated what was happening/occurring .. it was the reality distortion and the gaslighting /manipulation that followed that sent my head west! I do hope time is a healer! NC with NM a year now! Sad it took 46yrs to wake! 😔
