It’s awesome to have a tool like @sensoredge that measures foot pressure, stride/foot angle, among a bunch of other things with new updates on the app!📊
We wanted to see how different drills and implements changed certain things. Couple things I noticed:
📐 Stride Angle got more closed with 108 BP Vest being pulled open
⬆️ Increase of weight into the ground while being pulled out of the ground with 108 BP Vest
📈 Transition of weight was cleaner and sent into the ground more efficiently at the end, after using Waterbags and the 108 BP Vest🦺

Let's take a look at a front extension hitter (black shirt) to a back extension hitter (red shirt). In the setup, we are looking for more or less 60-70% of the weight to be loaded into the extension leg.
The extension leg is home to the #1 balance point which when using it requires the least amount of energy expenditure. The extension leg also acts as the body’s rotation of axis.
Using Sensor Edge, you can see the difference in how each hitter distributes weight in the setup and how that weight behaves throughout the move. The grey circle representing the COG shows each athlete’s preferred axis of rotation. Some hitters turn around the front leg and others around the back leg depending on their profile.
For the front extension player, once he moved off the back leg and loaded 60-70% into the front leg, his metrics immediately increased.
‣ Exit Velocity
‣ Approach Angle
‣ Early Connection
Front extension hitters are often told they are crashing or need to stay back more. When they are forced to hold weight on the back leg despite an internal preference to get forward, the hands often cast and go out and around as a compensation.
Motor Preferences is like understanding each athletes own form of communication. A tool to get to the answers for that individual. Built on a continuum in order to match the movement to the mover.
Thanks to @TerpsBaseball and Assistant Coach, Tommy Gardiner (@tommygardiner), for sharing!

Should you land full foot into the ground? Heel to toe? Toe first?🤔
Listen to @wmarsh108 explain that some guys are best when they land full foot but there’s others guys land on their toes, and some guys land on their heels like Paul Skenes 🦶
That’s why having @SensorEdge on @MoundPerfect is a game changer! It tells you where your foot pressure is, which way you land, and your stride length and angle so you can find out which way works best for your body!

What powers elite swings?
This golfer generated 180% of body weight in vertical force — timed 105ms before impact.
That’s how club speed is built — from the ground up.

The @sensoredge mound in action!🤯 Not only does it give an instant reading of stride length, stride angle, and foot angle, but you’re able to see WHEN and HOW you put force into the ground with pressure mapping!
The ability to see what stride changes do to the velocity on the fastball, break on the offspeed, and get video playback to see how changes with different cues effect foot pressure so that the athlete can get their BEST move to show up MORE often is the future…now!

@DETROlTLions313 @bsheridangolf I’m not offering you the sensor. I’m just trying to tell that what you think you see on video is not what’s happening in reality. And he is not “holding a dove”. His grip pattern is more complex.
English

@SensorEdge @bsheridangolf I don’t need a sensor to show me he’s holding onto the driver grip like he’s holding a dove in his hand lol

Bryson DeChambeau hands into impact. Notice the flat lead wrist and the right wrist in extension.

@DETROlTLions313 @bsheridangolf it’s because he has a very interesting pattern for grip pressure and he is using that for his benefit.
The only way to properly see it is this

@bsheridangolf why does it look like he's barely gripping the club?
English

@da15199756 @bsheridangolf You might see some evidence of a release pn this video. But the only way to see real grip pressure pattern is to use SensorGrip tech.
