@WallStreetApes As somebody who lives in Illinois I can tell you DOT has had a lot of projects lately, but there are still a lot of roads in disrepair. A lot of the previous governors dropped the ball honestly. JB isn't perfect, but they've replaced a ton of bridges and such recently

He walks over and looks down the hole, you can see the road way below He quickly leaves fearing he may fall through The pavement crumbled, leaving only the steel grid support structure visible I looked more into this and Illinois Department of Transportation did covered it with a steel plate as a temporary fix until it’s repaired This is what happens when our tax money isn’t spent on infrastructure and instead endlessly launderer to NGOs and back to politicians

@elonmusk I like Elon, and I’m a Trump fan as well. I disagree on this point though. WFH (remote work) should be fairly assessed like anything else and based on merit and output. Blanket cancellation of ideas/processes is not something, in general, to be celebrated.

This is about fairness: it’s not fair that most people have to come to work to build products or provide services while Federal Government employees get to stay home

4 years of living in Texas and I've come to the conclusion that the no state income tax thing is basically a scam. The property taxes are so high that they negate any savings. We are still paying as many taxes in Texas as we would in California. You save on gas I guess.

Most federal workers don’t physically show up, yet the cost of maintaining & providing energy for govt office buildings is $15BN/year (not counting billions more spent on office furnishings). The government owns 7,967 vacant buildings. This is nuts. Sounds like a job for DOGE.
