@Clearpreso Ah. Then if it wasn’t for the article, the people who can truthfully answer your question would likely belong to one of the 4 categories: 1. Those who sell it professionally, 2. Those who use it. 3. Those with a police dog, 4. Very curious (like children). I’m not in any of these

@neil_killick Morning calisthenics helps a lot with becoming more agile. It is definitely better than Jira for this purpose. ;)

"Using Jira doesn't make you agile", LinkedIn tells me. Yes, but using Jira doesn't stop you from being agile either. Regardless, unless you're like me, have just turned 50 and are completely inflexible, stop making "being agile" a goal. It's ridiculous.

@waitbutwhy Yup. And taking in account that we are all biased in many areas and/or situationally, we are pretty much on a rollercoaster. :)

But when you develop a bias in some area of your thinking, you become a moving train. You no longer notice people with a similar bias—out your window, their trains appear to be still. And a neutral person's stationary train appears to you to be biased in the other direction.

We can use two trains to visualize how bias distorts our thinking. When you're free of bias, it's like being an unmoving train. In this state, you have a clear view of others. Someone else's bias jumps out at you—you can see their train "moving." 1/2

@AlienTechGroup @agroebbe And, no benefit apart from gaining a political point of “your proposed optimization is not good” for whatever stupid reason.

@AlienTechGroup @agroebbe That’s true. Still, I believe it should be possible to define boundaries of the system such that this is no longer a constraint. Can’t prove, though.

Does anyone have the PDF of the paper of #Ackoff with the proof of the statement that local optimisation is considered as suboptimal?

@SergeyIRL Compared to the optimal configuration. Indeed, it will be for a given system. In that way, there is always a local optimisation?

@johncutlefish Basically, you want to count on them generating ideas under Dunning-Kruger effect. Otherwise (in case of something familiar), they would be more biased towards status quo and what you’ll be getting is complaints.

@johncutlefish IMO The new product types that work in an area customers are not familiar with. Otherwise it would be “faster horses”

@tottinge Push instead of pull? You don’t need to stop something that is not pushed on you. And also notice how these policies change when perceived cost of not releasing becomes higher than perceived cost of releasing with errors.

The problem begins with a simple realization that nearly all software development policies and processes exist to prevent software from being released. buff.ly/31mMOi5

@johncutlefish Depends on the purpose. The latter proves to be much less detrimental to the personal wellbeing (ex.: politicians).
