@tekbog @MicheleHarmonic Claude struggles with anything that isn’t really mainstream. I’m using a niche embedded database and it can’t manage to write valid queries, even correcting it does not help much. Current LLMs are too generic.

@Risky_Chris @Meta The problem with AR video is that you get too much data that you need to distill down again first. In an app the user does this for you by selectively inputting the most important data points. Prompts, phone video + audio and GPS already gives you a lot of new data.

the app unfortunately can't get the same kind of data as the glasses, and while they're not mega mainstream, i think they've certainly sold enough to get a quality data pool going. i was wearing a sunhat when i took my first picture w/ them, and the glasses said "there's a hat blocking the camera," which i thought was interesting =)

is there anyone in media or on twitter talking about @Meta's $80 billion investment seriously? even people i respect in tech are posting like zuck incinerated that money with nothing to show for it. ridiculous analysis everywhere. i feel like i'm going crazy

@Risky_Chris @Meta The data is most insightful when you have widespread adoption. Hardware is an expensive hurdle and needs years of refinement before mass-adoption. Getting people to download a useful free app is child’s play. The hardware necessity has turned into an optional gimmick

@ServerSock @Meta that's just it, i do see meta as somewhat of a hardware company. the meta glasses are great (software suite for it is *direly* lacking). of course i think a lot of this is in service of gaining access to more data about ourselves and our environments, but that serves ai dev too
