Posting this now before be blows up the combine. Dont’e Thornton Jr is someone I’d LOVE the bears to draft day 3. He may fly up some boards today though. Or atleast the Twitter boards lol. Huge dude who was limited by how Tennessee used him his qb not being able to hit him in stride on deep balls. Guys got the hands, size and speed to be fun in Ben’s offense

Man, it’s so crazy seeing the rise of Christian music artist and the reception they’re getting. I love it. That being said, what’s with the ticket prices? Looked at taking my nephews to see @forestfrank in Indy and the tickets $382 a pop! Good seats were over 1k each!
English

@ShamsCharania Nah, that allows for a lot of other factors to enter in. Just go by the rules in place

Cade Cunningham's agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports, to ESPN: "Cade has delivered a first-team All-NBA season. If he falls just short of an arbitrary games-played threshold due to legitimate injury, it should not disqualify him from recognition he has clearly earned over the course of the season. The league should be rewarding excellence, not enforcing rigid cutoffs that ignore context. An exception needs to be made."

Arm measurement is very important to coaches and evaluators but it’s also the most screwed up measurement we have. The ending point is simple, it’s the tip of the middle finger with the arm extended. It’s the starting point that gets screwed up and because of that we often get several different measurements in the same player.
The starting point is supposed to be the middle of the AC Joint in the shoulder but if isn’t started there, the measurements can change.
When I was with the Bears, I always used the Combine number because the scout who did it had an engineering degree and was very meticulous as to how it’s done. Having the same person measure every player leads to a high degree of accuracy. I don’t know who does it now at Indy but it’s been called into question.
Probably the best thing to do is just average the different lengths and go from there

@chunyardpicks10 @AdamSchefter @JFowlerESPN @jacobinfante24 @CHGO_Bears @BarstoolBigCat We’ll see about that

BREAKING: Jack Sanborn is returning to the #Bears on a one year deal.
The fan favorite and hometown kid returns to the city of Chicago, after a one year stint in Dallas.

@ButkusStats curious to you and the crews thoughts on this one. Pff did not like my mid rounders 😂😂😂
English

If it was a later day 2 pick, sure. I don’t mind that. That contract would be a bit much for my blood but it’s not outlandish. If they did it I wouldn’t stomp my feet and I’m sure the first 90 yard td he has I’ll be cheering my ass off. That being said, it wouldn’t be a move I’d love on face value
English

@SethDConklin I don’t disagree with much there. The only thing is paying Achane $13-14M and spending a day 2 pick to acquire him isn’t super expensive…especially in this draft class.
English

Why trade for De'Von Achane, when they have Swift/Monangai?
Rushing yards over expectation / per attempt 2025:
Achane 1.03
Swift 0.58
Monangai 0.29
Achane gains 0.45 more RYOE than Swift and 0.74 than Monangai.
Achane would've gained 100 more yards with Swift's carries and 125 more yards with Monangai's attempts
-Now factor in Chicago's OL ranked 3rd overall(PFF) and Miami's OL ranked 29th overall. The differential would be substantially more with equal OLs
PFF rushing grades
2025
Achane 91
Swift 87
Monangai 75.2
2024
Achane 82.8
Swift 65.7
2023
Achane 93.1
Swift 73.0
Receiving
-It's tough to compare receiving stats because ADOT, screens vs check downs vs blockers is all variable.
-I know not everyone likes PFF grades, but they're somewhat telling
PFF receiving grades
2025
Achane 74.9
Swift 64.9
Monangai 44.4
2024
Achane 80.6
Swift 59.5
Lastly, explosives. We know Ben Johnson is always hunting for explosive plays.
20+ yard rushes
Achane = 13(2025), 5(2024), 8(2023)
Swift = 5(2025), 5(2024), 6(2023)
Monangai = 3(2025)
40+ yard rushes
Achane = 4(2025), 3(2024), 5(2023)
Swift = 0(2025), 1(2024), 1(2023)
Monangai 0(2025)
The difference between Achane and Swift/Monangai isn't a little....it's massive.
Moncada's Agent@KareemRon33
@_NickWhalen @HGrahamNFL They have two good RBs right now? Why the hell would they waste draft picks on a RB when they need defense. In fact trading high picks for any RB is really silly.
English

Oh man, I completely misread your tweet hahah. I’ll put it like this. I don’t mind the trade if it makes sense and Ben is for it. For runninbacks I’ll always opt towards the draft or FA if the price is right. I think this scheme and line will make the back better. If we were a runningback away from being a dawg, all for it. I just don’t think we are one spot away. But I see the appeal of him. Lightening fast and would be fun in this scheme. Just my 2 Pennies
English

@SethDConklin Why did BAL, GB, PHI, KC, SF, and BUF all pay RBs well and 5/6 signed or traded for them?
Those are consistently playoff teams
English

@_NickWhalen He’s a 2nd Round or trade back option for me and I don’t see either happening 🤷♂️
English

I've seen many mock Zion Young to Chicago at 25 overall.
Would he be on Ryan Poles' board with the DWI?

As of right now in terms of accomplishments 1 Goff 2 Caleb 3 love 4 jj
For the future 1 Caleb 2 Goff 3 love 4 Kyler lol
Bears Nation@BearsNationCHI
How would you rank the NFC North starting QBs??
English

@_NickWhalen @ButkusStats He’s one of the best follows on bears twitter. There are a few people here (you included) that I’ll actually stop and read. The rest I scroll by lol
English

Bears fans need to familiarize themselves with the personnel types Chicago coaches want to fit the schemes.
330 lb Keith Traylor or Ted Washington doesn't fit the Bears scheme 2026.
Dennis Allen wants quicker/gap penetrating DTs.
Whathappened80@bears7500
@_NickWhalen We need a big body run stuffer at DT, not another average 3 tech
English

@SethDConklin I don't either. Have a firm 2nd round grade on him. But in a class that only has ~12 true first round grades, that late first gets murky fast.
