I know we complain about them a lot, but maybe the IRS isn’t so bad after all. I mean they did get Al Capone… Not to mention that annoying little girl down the street selling lemonade… always trying to guilt trip you with that cute little smile… Diabolical

Sharing is nice. But it’s not easy. Sorry, but I don’t work long hours just to give somebody else my paycheck… Is what I might say if I had a real job.

This series is off to an incredible start! Really loving it! Thanks Matt! Ideas for future episodes: The great depression/the new deal The American Revolution, formation of the union and adoption of the constitution, as well as possibly things like manifest destiny and American expansion The truth about McCarthyism… I’m guessing he wasn’t the villain he’s made out to be I definitely agree with a couple others listed here namely the truth about Nixon and Watergate, as well as the institution of income tax and how government was funded before and after.

So far with Real History we have given you the true story of slavery, the American Indians, the Civil War, and the civil rights movement (part 2 coming in a few weeks). What historical episode would you like to see us tackle next?

@MattWalshBlog The creation of the Income Tax (16th Amendment) and the Federal Reserve in 1913. The beginning of the so-called "Progressive Era" that transformed America from a limited constitutional republic into the modern administrative state.

@mattvanswol Yikes! In elementary school in Tennessee, it seems like I had the same writing system as you Matt. Later, in high school in Michigan, I think B+ started at either 89 or 90%?

When I was in school, a "B+" was a 92 and an "A-" was a 93-95. What was considered an A when you were in school?

Last week Candace Owens told the world the Daily Wire had laid off over 50% of its workforce — then updated it to “60% absolute bloodbath.” I’m sure it will shock you to learn those figures aren’t anywhere close to the truth. But there’s a much bigger story beyond Candace’s "mistaken" reporting. The story is how lying has become the default operating system for huge swaths of both legacy media and the new online right. The Grift Industrial Complex rewards speed, sensationalism, and telling the audience exactly what it wants to hear over anything resembling journalistic standards, due diligence, or basic honesty. I know this world because I helped build part of it. We broke past the old gatekeepers for good reason. The old gatekeepers broke all of their own standards. But too few in new media even have standards to break. They say bad money drives out good. It turns out bad journalism does too. youtu.be/z59rdbK7VR4?si…
