This can't be stopped through requests and awareness campaigns, but only thru strict enforcement. Recruit tourist police, equip them with body cams, lathis, taser guns, and the authority to issue challans and make arrests. Just be ruthless. One or two seasons of strict enforcement are all it takes to set things straight. Keep an eye on local shops, hotel owners, and the local garbage disposal admin. They also dump waste directly into the river, yet all the blame conveniently falls on tourists alone. @pushkardhami
