What if one plantation could grow into a future of livelihood? On 16th March, a meaningful step towards sustainable rural development was taken in the Bhadav Tribal Hamlet, Raigad. With the CSR support of Yusen Logistics, Sewa International facilitated a jackfruit plantation drive—laying the foundation for a future community-led orchard. Over 100 jackfruit saplings were planted under the leadership of local farmer Kaluram Koli, with active participation from community members, children, and volunteers. The initiative reflected strong community ownership, especially as the children’s bicycle group committed to regularly care for and water the saplings during the summer. With guidance from agriculture expert Mr. Dhuri and support from Auragyan Foundation, the effort goes beyond plantation—it focuses on building sustainable livelihoods and long-term impact. With a shared vision to expand to 250 saplings and strengthen fruit-based livelihoods, this marks the beginning of a promising journey for the community.
