#ProtectPlantHealth As part of #InternationalPlantHealthDay, we feature #SMARTCROP, a digital solution for real-time crop health monitoring developed by ICRISAT and partners, supported by @SBI_FOUNDATION. Using satellite imagery, remote sensing, and AI, SMART-CROP helps detect crop stress early and provides timely advisories to manage pests, climate risks, and soil health challenges in rainfed systems. The system has already supported over 8,000 farmers in #Telangana and #Karnataka, enabling better decision-making and strengthening resilient farming systems. @ippcnews

SBI Foundation proudly commemorates the legendary war veteran, Company Havildar Major Piru Singh Shekhawat, on his 108th birth anniversary. During the Indo-Pak War of 1948, he displayed unmatched bravery and made the supreme sacrifice while leading his troops to victory.

So far, 14 trainees have been successfully recruited into various security forces, carrying forward the inspiration and patriotism of Company Havildar Major Piru Singh Shekhawat.

The centre has a dedicated team providing physical and academic training to rural youth, enabling them to join defence and police services. The training is free of cost, and youth aged 16-21 are trained in batches of 25 each.

To honour his inspiring legacy, SBI Foundation has established the 'CHM Piru Singh Shekhawat Youth Centre' at Hansalsar in Jhunjhunu District, Rajasthan. This initiative is part of the Gram Seva Programme being implemented in partnership with Arpan Seva Sansthan.

He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest gallantry award.
