Notice the people who are prematurely dancing on @realDailyWire’s grave after news of some layoffs.
They’re posting things like “Why Daily Wire failed,” etc.
Yet DW is still a massively successful organization and the only one of its kind.
It’s pretty obvious that DW is undergoing a restructuring away from entertainment and toward investigative journalism.
If their foray into entertainment didn’t pan out, then they should still be applauded for trying to single-handedly take on the Hollywood behemoth.
And you should cheer them in their pivot back to a journalism-heavy model.
The people wishing for the DW’s destruction are truly wishing for the destruction of conservatism as we know it.
Most of them are ppl who will never achieve a fraction of the DW’s success, nor will they even try.
They only critique and tear down.

It's sad what the Star Wars franchise has become, but we shouldn't forget how powerfully *Christian* was the original trilogy.
The first movie I ever saw in a theater was the original Star Wars in 1977. People today don't realize what a big deal Darth Vader was: he was the ultimate villain (far more terrifying than Thanos or any of today's Hollywood villains). There was nothing redeeming about him; he personified evil.
That's why Vader's redemption in Return of the Jedi (spoiler!) was so mind-blowing when it happened. Nobody saw this coming: the personification of evil could be converted to good? Unthinkable. Yet that's exactly what happened, through the love of his son (another spoiler!).
The belief that *no one* is beyond redemption—and that love can overcome even the worst evil—are fundamentally Christian beliefs. The original Star Wars trilogy demonstrated how Christianity was still a deep part of our culture in the 1970's and 1980's, even though so many at that time were working fervently to reject those Christian foundations.
So while the Star Wars franchise is in pitiful shape today, I'm thankful for that original trilogy and the fundamentally Christian message it proclaimed to millions of people.

The official “May the 4th” Star Wars day as recognized by Lucasfilm began fifteen years ago in 2011 when they used it as a marketing promotion for the lead up to the Star Wars saga Blu-Ray boxed set release that year. It’s a “Hallmark Holiday” designed to sell you merchandise.
The true “Orthodox” Star Wars day is May 25th. That’s the day the original Star Wars was released on in 1977 and Return of the Jedi in 1983 (Empire was May 21, 1980).

Everyone’s complaining about the fact that this Animal Farm movie undercuts Orwell’s critique of communism, which is true. But, message aside, I think it’s just as bad that they’ve taken a serious and intelligent story and turned it into a goofy slapstick farce complete with fart jokes. It’s like making a Crime and Punishment adaptation and turning it into a romantic comedy. No respect for the source material at all. A cynical cash grab. If you want to make a dumb movie about farm animals, make your dumb movie about farm animals. Positioning it as an adaptation, while making no attempt to capture either the tone or meaning of the author’s original work, is an insult.
