@ShadowpunkComic @JonMalin A great design can be identified in silhouette. Spidey and Supe are generic in that regard.

McDonald's Big Arch
I've had some bad fast food burgers in my time.
- I ordered a cheeseburger at a Captain D's seafood in the 1990's
- I tried the BK Veggie in the early 2000's: a Morningstar Farms pure vegetable burger (no homo because no soy)
- I got a burger from Arby's about a year ago (worse than the Captain D's burger, not even kidding. It was an affront to human dignity)
The Big Arch from McDonald's is not the worst burger I've ever eaten.
But it is the worst McDonald's burger I've ever eaten.
Not exaggerating.
The McD's scale is now "Super Hero Burger" being S-tier (look it up, an amazing fast food achievement from the before-time) with now the Big Arch abominable sandwich bumping the McLean Deluxe out of position for the worst McD's burger ever inflicted on the public.
If there is one word I could use to describe the Big Arch it's tedious.
This burger is a chore... and that's crazy for a McDonald's food item because their menu items are so heavily processed and they just supposed to sort of dissolve so you eat more.
Even the Double Quarter Pounder w/ Cheese basically melts in your mouth.
Similarly, the McDonald's Double Cheeseburger (my fav McD's item) isn't even a burger. It's some kind of chewy hamburger cookie thing, like those soft supermarket sugar cookies with the shit load of frosting, only this one is made of ground-up cow and bread.
Really great, though. Love the Double Cheeseburger.
Hate the Big Arch.
It was fucking dense. The patties -which I think are fresh 1/4 lbs patties similar to the DQPC but w/o noticeable seasoning- were chewy and surprisingly dry. I've never had McD's burgers that were dry like this.
The bun was heavier than usual and had odd artifacts. It looked and tasted like it was more about appearances than being actual bread. It was brown af for some reason, had shit sprinkles all over like a goddamned donut, and tasted like a wheat-flavored sponge.
The bun was not "sophisticated" or "rustic" or whatever they were going for. It was just trying too hard to seem appealing on paper but instead tasted like paper.
It tasted like it was baked by Bob Villa from This Old House using sawdust he swept off the floor of a 1700's farm house he was renovating.
Moving on, the cheese was fine, but schizophrenic bi-racial.
The lettuce was shredded and not leaf so I probably got food poisoning or worse and will likely die.
The sauce was not Big Mac sauce. It was something else. People were describing it as "spicy" but mine did not taste spicy at all. It was heavy, though, and I think mayo would have done the job better for this dry ass burger.
Lastly, but not leastly, the worst crime of this Big Arch burger was the french fried onions.
They were completely unnecessary because the mofuggin sandwich already has regular onions.
But there is something going on with our supply chain where everybody is using these shitty grandma's green bean casserole ass crispy onion things. BK has put them on 2-3 recent burgers.
Like others have experienced, the Big Arch started to fall apart about 1/3 of the way through. It's too wide with too much goop sliding around.
Goop that is not good.
It's just a messy, dense, ill-conceived cross between the DQPC and the Grand Mac (extra large single patty Big Mac).
Put this up against the 2025 Burger King Whopper and the Whopper curb stomps this sandwich like it's American History X and the Big Arch is breaking into Whopper's truck.
But we've got an even better Whopper now... which you can get for $3.99 (like $5 with cheese) on Whopper Wednesday when this piece of shit Big Arch was like $10.
No thank you.
At (roughly) the same price the Double Whopper w/ Cheese destroys the Big Arch by every possible metric.
I feel disgusting and afflicted having eaten this disturbing sandwich and could probably go the rest of my life never eating McDonald's again.
Knowing their CEO is afraid to eat it just confirms why the Big Arch should be avoided.

Use this awareness in your comic books, too. Sometimes the page/panel and story require a full-blown complicated drawing, but not that often. Many times it can be suggested very simply, with a few lines.
Strong storytelling needs camera angles, and you can’t put those angles across if you “fudge” dealing with perspective or altogether avoid it. Storyboard artists are good to study to learn simple methods for indicating angles.
Classic pages by comics masters are full of clues about how to implement this, once you realize what to look for—IF you are willing to take the time to dig up & examine them. And then revise your work.

Perhaps the greatest superhero comic book I have read in a decade, Darwin Cooke's The New Frontier. In this compact edition, it was a perfect read. @DCOfficial #superheroes
