In that situation, both defenders had already chosen the direction they wanted him to go. They were set, waiting for him to “dance to their tune.” But this is where elite players are different. Instead of rushing, instead of playing into their trap, he stayed calm… almost too calm. That calmness alone planted doubt in their minds. The moment they realized he wasn’t biting, wasn’t moving the way they expected, panic crept in. One of them lost patience and decided to step out to close him down and that right , there was the mistake. And trust me, players like Bruno and Messi don’t miss moments like that. The second that defender stepped out, he already knew they’ve messed up. And he punished them instantly.
