The DMs after this post were overwhelming to reply to, but one thing I can say is grief counselling genuinely helps. It makes you feel less alone, helps you accept reality with positive mindset and brings you back to the present slowly.

yeah but that’s kinda the point, dating profiles are currently optimised for perception. the way people talk to ChatGPT/Claude is way more unfiltered, so that matching would be optimised for honesty and the “real” deal. And realistically, if you’ve already shared that much context with AI, the ‘private’ line already got blurry a while ago.

if I had to start somewhere, I would begin by breaking consciousness into parts that can be studied
Perception through data
Memory through representation
Decision making through optimization
step by step, mapping abstract ideas into systems we can actually build and test
that feels like a more grounded way to approach it

Each of these needs to be defined, measured, and translated into something computational before we can even begin to model it I'm starting to think the real challenge in AGI is not scale or data, but clarity of what we are actually trying to recreate
