After centuries of disunion, China was re-unified in 589 AD by the shortly-lived Sui Dynasty (581-617), ruled by Han Chinese The Sui embarked on Construction Mega-Projects: > vast Canal system linking Yangtze with Yellow River and the Beijing region > reconstruction of Great Wall of China The Sui collapsed, partly from the financial burden imposed by these grand public works, but arguably more so because of repeated abortive attempts to conquer Koguryo (Kingdom in Northern Korea, also spelled ‘Goguryeo') Quite unbelievably, the Han Chinese Sui Dynasty allied with the Turkic Göktürk Empire to invade Koguryo Remarkably, Koguryo fended off the Göktürks one-on-one, AND when they came weapons blazing with China standing with and behind them Korea's Goguryeo kingdom had several encounters with the Göktürks, also known as the Turkic Khaganate. One of the notable instances when Goguryeo defeated the Göktürks occurred in the early 7th century. In 612 AD, Goguryeo successfully repelled an invasion by the Göktürks, allied with the Sui Dynasty of China, who launched a massive invasion into Goguryeo territory. Goguryeo, under King Yeongyang's leadership, managed to defeat this formidable coalition in a series of battles, culminating in the significant victory at the Salsu (Ch'ongch'on) River. During this battle, Goguryeo forces, utilizing clever tactics, managed to decimate a large portion of the invading forces, significantly weakening the Sui's ability to project power and contributing to the Sui Dynasty's eventual downfall. It is similar to the impact losing Russo-Japanese War had on Imperial Russia. Israel's interception rate continues to drop. According to my estimations from tracking and following Iranian attacks, these are the following approximate interception rates: March 5: 95% March 20: 75% Today: 54% Iran launched approximately 14 missiles at Israel today. ~6 impacted, ~7 were intercepted, and ~1 failed in flight. This is an unprecedented impact rate for this war. Iran's strategy of firing 1-2 missiles at a time to deplete western intercepts while increasing the longevity of their own ballistic missile stockpiles continues to progress, and the successes from this strategic patience will continue to get more substantial.
