People booing the Royal Family today is quite telling because I never remember in my lifetime when the Queen was ever booed. King Charles has caused irreparable damage to the monarchy. Is it time that KC abdicated before he damages it even further?

In 1993, Charles expressed his hope that the British people would embrace the wonderful world of Islam, which he said had helped create modern Europe. He added that Islam could teach us today a way of understanding and experiencing the world that Christianity itself had lost.

The problem with this line of thinking *NOW* is that the Founders did not imagine that the nation they were founding would be filled and/or governed by foreign actors so evil that they would use the process itself to plunder and oppress the people of the nation. So, "the rules" are *now* being used against the people they were meant to protect. Thus, the meme:

@JonahDispatch You cannot amend the constitution through an act of congress, you can only do it thru a constitutional amendment. For example, prohibition was introduced by a constitutional amendment and was repealed by one. Them’s the rules, folks.

My warm take on birthright citizenship: Wholly defensible to be against it as policy and wholly reasonable to want to reform it in some way. Also intellectually defensible to say that the 14th amendment is being misinterpreted. Doesn't mean I agree, but I don't think it's crazy either. But even if you win that argument, you still need to deal with century+ of precedent and statutory language that codifies it and has created massive reliance interests. I consider it an open question whether Congress can repeal or modify birthright citizenship. I think it is absolutely nuts and dangerous to think a president can repeal it through executive order, and defending the E.O. because you agree with the underlying policy is itself indefensible. That's it. That's my take.

As much as I love Resident Evil, it's not some big lore heavy and serious piece of elevated art. It has been, at most, a very good horror game series and a number of somewhat terrible action schlock games. I do not expect a series where a regular human punches a large boulder to move it as something that's going to elevate the genre. I do, however, simply expect it to entertain me.

The vast majority of people have premarital sex so if you say it's sinful you basically have to say that everyone around you is evil which seems obviously false? Not sure how to square this

This is the average American Undertale/Deltarune fan They don’t really care about the game or being inclusive, they just accept it because they’re included in it But when it comes to being inclusive toward “dirty Latinos” they don’t like that so much

Actually, I think this situation specifically was a bit of trolling by the devs to see if you DID pay attention. You learned the jump dodge mechanic right before this fight, the attack literally says "Goblu jumps", and he smashes the ground instead of hitting your characters personally. No gold icon or slow down, so you shouldn't jump. However, the game deliberately does something to make you *want* to jump.
