@Digital_ENYC @NolanAnalyst Based on what the Principal Engineer at IMAX, Milos Popvic, said, the new camera is made mainly with carbon fiber and titanium, which would significantly reduce the total weight of the frame. Very exciting

@ShaneManeMane @NolanAnalyst Really? That’s amazing , it’s about time. But only 30%?? LOL Now they just need to work on the weight of it and make it lighter.

Christopher Nolan considered using IMAX cameras for Inception, as he did on The Dark Knight, but dropped the idea. They were too heavy, loud and rigid for the film’s moving sets. He chose 35mm to keep the camera light and flexible.

@Digital_ENYC @NolanAnalyst They did for The Odyssey. It’s rumored they are using these now for Dune: Messiah and then the new 007 project
