@Sriram_S433 Really cool work! Could I get a pdf of the paper? Don't seem to have access to J Neuro through our institution.

If you're interested in how Mef2c tunes neuronal response to repulsive guidance cues in the cortex, here's a link to the paper: jneurosci.org/content/45/21/…

If you guess correctly what this is, you'll win a free tour of our lab, maybe even a cup of coffee too. Who can say no to that???

Next paper out today! TLDR; We identified a pathway where neonatal ipRGCs regulate immature rod pruning during development. Loads of transient events - hybrid neurites, transiently expressed receptors, and rod migration. Thanks to all those involved! cell.com/developmental-…

@Thepurplelilac Great questions! Seems like the M1/M3 types project into the INbL during development (Figure S2). Couldn't find many direct contacts between rods and ipRGCs, but found them in close volumetric proximity. We think that it might be more direct through volumetric glutamate release!

@ShaneP_D Great work! So only high opsin4 subtypes that make that connection right? (is it M1 or M2?) Is it a direct synapse or through amacrine cells? Thanks!

New work out from the lab! TL;DR: we made an Opn4cre mouse line that is compatible with the Ai-series of Cre reporters, and used it to map the spatial distribution of the M1-M6 ipRGC types! Thanks to all involved! Reach out if you want the line Link: cell.com/cell-reports-m…

2 of 2 grants not discussed, 3 of 3 papers rejected, but a blast to teach PhD students about eye morphogenesis and retinal development!
