The number represents everything Turner was about when you talk to Danny - selflessness, leadership and perseverance. Danny passed the number on to his brother Shane, who then passed it on to a current member of the team who possessed all the same qualities. A tremendous honor to wear the #82 in our program.

So Byrne wore it to honor Turner Cockrell, the OG No. 82 who played football/lacrosse at Byrne's HS Allatoona, he passed away from cancer in 2018. His best friend, Danny Tesler, an All-American FO at Allatoona, wore 82 @CSUVikingsLax and is currently battling brain cancer.
