Day 60 of the regular session is here, and the Florida House delivered. Under Speaker Perez's leadership, we fought rising costs, defended taxpayers, and made life more affordable for Florida families. We made a promise and we kept it. And we’re not done yet!

When public benefit programs are targeted by fraudsters and foreign criminals, every taxpayer foots the bill. My legislation will crack down on fraud with common sense - verify claimants are real, living Floridians. It bolsters confidence in our assistance program, reduces wasteful spending, and ensures legitimate claimants receive payment. I urge the Senate to help send this bill to the Governor’s desk!

I’m proud we passed our bill to crack down on public benefit fraud off the House floor today. My bill is simply common sense: make sure claimants are alive and prevent bots and foreigners from gaming the system. We have a duty to protect Floridians with valid claims to public assistance they depend on. That means rooting out fraudsters!

Unbelievable that Democrats in Congress would rather shutdown the government than fund our critical law enforcement agencies. Florida Backs the Blue - we won't use public safety as a political bargaining chip.

Happy Presidents Day! Today we celebrate General George Washington’s birthday and honor the leaders who shaped America into the greatest nation on earth.

This week the Florida House passed a resolution protecting religious expression, including prayer, in public schools. Free expression of religion is a fundamental value of this nation, and Florida voters should be able to make their voices heard on the issue.

Proud that our bill to protect youth sports passed its second committee this week! Extracurricular programs are so important to the mental and physical health of our kids. We ought to make it as easy as possible for schools to enhance these opportunities.

Today, Secretary Lambert was joined by @ShaneAbbottFL and @tpl_org to announce Florida’s newest state park, Shoal River Headwaters State Park.

I was honored to receive the Rural Champions Advocacy Award at the 8th Annual Rural County Reception. This recognition means a great deal to me, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to advocate for rural communities across District 5. I was also proud to see Senator Corey Simon recognized with this award as well. I’m thankful to work alongside leaders who are committed to ensuring our communities have a strong voice and the support they deserve. It is truly an honor to serve District 5!

Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy reminds us that courage, conviction and faith can move a nation forward. He spoke often about moral leadership, strong communities, and judging one another by character, not by the color of their skin. These principles that still matter as we work to preserve opportunity, freedom, and respect for every American.

Today begins the 2026 Legislative Session. It is my honor to represent Northwest Florida in the State House, and I look forward to fighting over the next 60 Days to lower property taxes, make prescription drugs more affordable, protect our conservative way of life, and defend the Trump-DeSantis Agenda.
