@ShannonBoxx7 So many questions. But how did you do it? The motivation,fighting through the pain and sickness? We are new to this disease and trying to understand but with no avail. I thank you so much for reaching out. I’m so amazed that you made it to the level that you did with Lupus.

@ShannonBoxx7 my daughter was diagnosed with lupus on her 14th birthday. She has played soccer since she was 5. She gets discharged with her fatigue and joint pain. Her dreams are to play in college. Far fetched I’m sure, but it would be awesome if you could reach out.

@Kerri24030170 Thank you! This disease affects everyone differently and I believe medicine helped me regulate the really bad days. I quickly learned how to read my body and did my best to anticipate when a flare was beginning so that I could pull back on either training or what was stressing me

@Kerri24030170 Unfortunately I think it’s a very personal decision to make. I was very scared at first to open up but once I met some coaches that I trusted I was more willing to share parts of my diagnosis with them but that took a while.

I’m devastated to share that as my team heads to AZ to play in the Champions Cup, I will be rehabbing after knee surgery. I know I’ll be back stronger and ready to join them sometime this spring. I’ll be cheering them on and hoping they crush it! @ChicagoFCUGA06
