Most of the guys in the running for John were darkskin but due to them not having as good chemistry with Kyle or not fitting the show’s vibe for the character they didn’t get the part. It’d be colorism if they excluded darkskins fully

You can't just pretend it doesn't because it doesn't fit your narrative. That doesn't mean you have to dislike Aaron as John, but that doesn't erase the larger issue

@ZTZRNALSOUL @Nerdy_Weirdo Well Storm is from the motherland. She 100% should be darkskin. But John is African-American where there’s more wingle room to be adapted differently. in modern depictions of him his race is integral to his character without a doubt but not so much his complexion.

Aaron’s rebel ridge movie alone show’s he’s perfect to adapt this fictional character. He’s cast and he’s gonna cook. Nothing u can do about it except complain to the sky

@Jasonsuperboi @Irfan_1x Strictly African characters from the motherland should 100% be dark skinned. Halle Berry at the time was the biggest blk actress so I see why they went with her. No excusing Vixen tho. With Aaron as John I just don’t see colorism as the intent for a African-American character.

Again this isn’t a the blaxploitation era anymore. Imo the only characters that absolutely need to be dark skinned are BP, Storm and Static
