Leading yourself means noticing your own patterns before you point to someone else’s. It means slowing down enough to ask: What energy am I bringing into the room? What story am I telling myself? What story am I creating for others? To name your values and actually align your decisions with them. To model the emotional regulation, clarity, and steadiness you hope to see in others. Your team feels it. Your students feel it. Your family feels it. And on the days when the work feels heavy or chaotic, come back to the simple, grounding truth: Leadership is an inside-out job.

Today marks Year 21 for me as an educator & my 3rd year as a principal. The 1st day was smooth & successful. I’m excited about what’s to come this school year. Happy 1st day of school! 🫶🏾🎉
