@POTUS @SecRubio The children in Gaza are god’s children. They have done nothing other than be children. And yet today, they are dying from starvation. It is not enough to send food or create new orgs. Please end the starvation at once.

Leaning into toxicity and bullshit is not how @ElissaSlotkin won MI. You don't design a strategy aimed at the 1/3 of blue wall voters you will never, ever win. You design a strategy to win the blue wall voters you can win. Talk to those of us who know.

took two days to drink my feelings. took another to run 20 miles. that’s enough bereavement. here’s what I think is the path forward: what Tuesday made clear is the Obama coalition is dead and so too are the niceties and mores of the Obama era. 🧵

In the last 6 years, the people of MI have voted 3 times to make democracy work for people, protected reproductive rights for all, increased the minimum wage and provided earned sick time. They've elected women up and down ballot this whole century.
ACLU of Michigan@ACLUofMichigan

Through our grief and anger, however, let’s not forget what the people of Michigan are capable of when we work and build together.  We made Michigan a model by protecting reproductive rights when the U.S. Supreme Court failed us.

Thank you, Black women, for always showing up for our democracy and our communities. As @mayawiley explains, building coalition is how we get our collective needs met.

MI absentee voters - make sure your vote is counted in this election. You have until 5pm today to cure a signature issue with your ballot.

Your daily reminder that all we have thus far are unofficial results and projections. In addition to these corrections, absentee ballots are being cured as we speak and military and overseas ballots that are legally required to be counted are still coming in.

NEWS: The initial election results in Michigan's Calhoun County didn't include all of the votes cast there, and officials were working Friday to resolve the discrepancy, according to the Secretary of State's office. detroitnews.com/story/news/pol…

In 2020, it was approximately 80 million who did not vote. 2024 appears to have lower turnout & once everything is complete, we shall see what the final # is for those eligible who did not vote.

The data point that has not yet been discussed & what I find to be one of the most important after an election is the # of eligible Americans who did not vote. As of today, it is about 87 million! And the differences by state are massive.

Don't jump to or look for the simple answers. Three women lead the State of MI and have for six years. In this election, the state voted for Donald Trump AND voted for Elissa Slotkin AND voted for two women on the MI Supreme Court.
The New York Times@nytimes

Kamala Harris is the second woman to lose the U.S. presidential election. The country has been led by men for all of its 248 years, and that will continue for at least four more. We spoke with women who were processing the latest loss. nyti.ms/3UJqFmV

Can confirm: the 2024 election was the highest turnout election in Michigan's history. Total votes cast were over 5.67 million, or 79% (!) of our active voters. Unofficial results from all 83 Michigan counties now available at mvic.sos.state.mi.us/votehistory/In…

@umichsieg As folks give turnout numbers, can you ALWAYS say turnout of what? I believe you are talking about turnout of REGISTERED voters. Some analyze turnout of eligible voters. It helps, me at least, to clarify/specify.
