These posts aren’t "subtweets"; they are excerpts and ideas from his discourses as he tries to encourage and console people in their actual, lived circumstances. ​Your "Main Character Syndrome" is doing a massive disservice to us. It hijacks the spotlight we desperately need for the Anglophone Crisis. According to the International Crisis Group, over 6,500 people have been killed since 2016. UN OCHA reports nearly 1 million displacements (including those fleeing Boko Haram) and 2.9 million people in need of urgent help. In a nation of 30 million, this is a staggering blow. Our children in the NW and SW have lost years of their education, and many have lost their lives. ​Those who have the power to help often stay silent or use slogans of peace, and some have been said to "cite scripture" to justify inaction and impactless moves. We were hoping this visit would finally make the world look again at Cameroon's pain. Please, stop making our reality about your politics.
