The real world is messy and often resembles high school more than college and rewards don't always go to those who deserve them. Just be a person who gets along well with people and does the job well. Learn from the people who know the job. Respect them. One day, you will be on the other side of the playground and you will get what you wanted. It takes time, but you'll get there. Never give up. I never gave up and I am now telling you to do the same.

Today is a tough day for my family... This is where it all started for my family ... Plainview, Tx back to the days when they arrived to Texas in the late 1800s. From here they moved on to Amarillo 2 years later after my great-grandfather decided to marry my great-grandmother and give her land and family. That is how our family ended up with a Ranch which is my responsibility now. Family has always been first for me. My late wife always told me that I would give my life for anyone in the family and it was true. Today is another year without her (16 now) and all I can remember is my conversations with her about how we would have a long life on the Ranch like my ancestors did. On one of my deployments, I said goodbye to her and promised I would come back, but I never thought it was the last time I would see her. She was the love of my life since we met in 1st grade. She waited for me while I went to the naval academy, we got married, has a daughter, she was always there for me and understood how much I loved doing what I did. She always said these words before leaving for deployments ana missions "Go save the world and make sure you and your men come back safe". I did every single time but God took her away from me too early. Untill we see each other again Tammy.

Jesus thats a hard read. My dad went through something similar with my mom. She had cancer and fought for 4 years before passing away. I was 6, my brother was 5. My mom, ironically also named Tammy, was only 29 when she passed away in our living room. That not only broke me and my brother, but my dad as well. They had only been married for 7 years. Hang in there, its rough and the pain never goes away, but at least she lives on through your daughter and in yall's hearts. Sending hugs my friend. I can't fathom the pain and grief you had to suffer with that, especially while being deployed 🥺🥺

I have started a 3 day workshop with some young CEOs from local startups. First day and they got tons of good things from me and we had an amazing session. Tomorrow will be day 2 and we will be in a conference meeting with some of my friends who are also company owners back home and one that is in Spain who is actually our client. Mentoring young executives a whole different thing .-
