@KOMUnews He sat in traffic from 3:13pm until around 3:44am when he called my wife and said he was finally moving. The hotel said he checked in around little after 5am. We still haven’t talked to him, but hotel was gracious enough to do a wellness check and he was in his room sleeping.

@KOMUnews My 81 year old FIL left KC yesterday a little after 10am to head to a conference in STL. He stopped in Columbia for lunch around 230pm, thankfully filled up before getting back on 70EB. He called my wife at 3:13pm stating he was stuck in traffic and it was not moving.

🚨The Missouri Highway Patrol just told us that the east side of the interstate is completely shutdown and that we will be here unable to move for the rest there night. Several folks are low on gas or without it. They told us to conserve fuel and that FEMA will be messaging us.

@MoPublicSafety @MoDOT @MSHPTrooperGHQ I need any sign of hope. It feels like we’ve been left for dead. Departed KC at 4PM and we haven’t moved an inch in the last 3 hours. Freezing temperatures, burning through gas, no food and many drivers are on the road by themselves. All updates have only gotten worse.
