You created a CLI You want to build a SKILL for it. How do you start? Do you just tell the agent "write a SKILL.md" for this? does it know? has context what you want and needs to do?

My Go port of cvs-fast-export has reached total victory. All the existing regression tests pass, even the most wacky pathological ones. This has significance even if you don't care about repository converters. I'll explain why below. I have a day or two of clean up to do, mostly writing regression tests for obscure CLI features (alternate reporting modes like dumping a DOT graph of the repo) that didn't have them before so I can verify compatible operation across the C and Go versions. But the hard part is done. I think this is kind of a big deal, not only because of cvs-fast-export's own importance at its particular job but because it's a demonstration that LLMs have reached the point where they can be used to clean out all the technical debt even in a nasty grotty old C codebase.

Started a new project today and Opus recommended Go. And I thought, "I don't know Go". And then I remember that doesn't matter at all.

@ZackKorman (4/?) (for some people this will never click), more resources will go into things that make the product and services around it better (and the pricing competitive). So a big win for customers. Oh, and since @TheHamstermind join $PANW they'll get better as well 🔥

@ZackKorman (3/?) products now. Even the practitioners themselves could vibe code something. So only really good products, which usually get their mindshare distribution by people having good experiences with them and lots of real "oh shit" moments, will win. Once the market realizes this

Can y’all hit me with your optimistic cybersecurity predictions for 2026? Tech twitter is full of posts saying “yoooo 2026 year of the agent lfg!!” Somewhat annoying but I also appreciate the energy. Would be good to see that on the infosec side

There's no grep or tool that can find other cases. Seems like a no-brainer that 1 is better. Complaining about the "unwrap" misses the point that this is just wrong handling of the error but at least with the unwrap we can see it.

2) We wrote this code and the tooling doesn't explicitly force us to handle errors (CPP/Python style with exceptions). Every line may raise an exception, you don't know and can't know. In this case, we haven't added an "Except/catch" clause, which was wrong.

Following the excellent postmortem report from Cloudflare, people are now giving rust and `unwrap` a lot of grief. I think these people are missing the point. What would you prefer? 1) We wrote this code, and the compiler explicitly forced us to handle the error (Rust style

Golang Weekly notes that Go has jumped to position 7 on the TIOBE index. There's no way you'll ever get me to believe that all of C, C++, and Java are more popular than JavaScript/TypeScript, but even so, a positive sign!
