Its unwritten purpose is primarily to rank the best 30 golfers for the year so they can be payed accordingly. Scottie in theory should get the biggest payout because he’s played the best season

@AndyTFE They need to quit trying to make the Tour Championship make sense. The NFL doesn't offer a 2 touchdown lead for the favored team. 10 MLB teams don't make it to the World Series. There was already 4 championships. Some say 5. Even NASCAR has their championship early in the season

My favorite part of the Tour Championship is how the announcers don’t even mention that Morikawa/Theegala would be leading a gross event to explain how well they are playing.
