Casually played Vampire and Fading Suns and Warhammer Fantasy. - My interest in WH40k is casual. - I started watching anime since 1985. Will do it till I die or my eyes die first. - i watch a broad range of anime genre: Western literature masterpieces adaptations of the 1980s, magical girls, mecha anime, shounen anime (well used to), slice of life, comedy, fantasy, science fiction. A bit of shoujo too. I owe that to french TV in the 80s. - i am a firm believer that every genre of anime have the right to exist, the media have a history of over 50 years. If you dont like [Current Decade], gems from the 70s to the 2000s are waiting to be rediscovered. - I wouldnt play gacha games if Western games were not dogshit nowaday. - Western pop culture is currently a dumpster fire and pretending otherwise is either cope or lying to yourself. - I am a firm believer of fanservice for everyone. If you think having one should be at the cost of removing the other, we are not going to enjoy that conversation. - Enjoyer of elves, gyaru, choco x vanilla waifu duo, barbarians, gladiators and knights for life.

Project Hail Mary feels like The Martian, Arrival, and WALL-E had a very smart, very charming baby. It has that confident, crowd-pleasing energy: funny, high-stakes, driven by a lead you genuinely want to spend two hours with while the universe keeps throwing problems at him.

@IMAO_ I have not watched the trailers beyond the 10 first seconds and I have not read the book. I legit thought it was Sunshine x Interstellar and I was down for it. Never expected Rocky. Best alien bromance since Chewbacca & Solo.

I was surprised how excited my wife was to see Project Hail Mary, but apparently, she thought it was a completely different plot. The plot she thought the move as she described it to me sounded like that of the 2016 Chris Pratt/Jennifer Lawrence movie Passengers -- and I have no idea how she got that in her head since I don't think anyone has mentioned that movie in years. So the good news is she saw Project Hail Mary the way you should: Knowing nothing about it and surprised by everything. She loved it!

Again, Hollywood can thrive again. It just has to decide as an industry that it cares more about telling good, entertaining stories than in peddling political propaganda.
